Honestly the thought of Chris, Cosey and Sleazy together making new music is more appealing to me than with Gen. It surprises me that they made it this long with him/her. That said, I’d be well pissed off at Gen if I’d had tix to tomorrow night’s show.
P-Orridge graduated from interesting to irritating some time ago anyway.
I cannot fucking wait for Genesis on Cleopatra.

Already happened in the 90s.

Yawn.
Not a big loss. I enjoyed Part Two: The Endless Not a fair amount even if Genesis’ output seemed to dominate the rest of the TG members. Then I read about the shows being a bit underwhelming and lost interest after a while. It’s just not the type of reunion that seemed borne out of a shared love for the “music”. Maybe I feel this way because the first four TG albums are at once incendiary and unique and it felt like there was nothing left for them to say when they finally recorded new material (albeit very listenable new material).
I still wish Porridge the best in his/her future endeavors.
Well I am really bummed about this!
I thought their latest album was fucking awesome!
And I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them live!
Although yes I agree it was more a reunion for the money.
Their new music was really fucking cool but it was not nearly as “revolutionary” for our modern time as they had been in the context of when they formed.
It was just a really cool modern take on their sound.
The beats were SICK live!
Genesis seems to be quite a diva etc. so this isn’t shocking but I think the other 3 really lack the charisma which made TG so fascinating.
And Gen made clear in interviews he liked Psychic TV better (I have an inkling it’s because he would have had all the control in that project)
Also I enjoy how shallow many of you are regarding Gen’s appearance, yet so many of you think you are “above” this kind of paparazzi gossip mainstream culture shit. Psshh it just takes a different form in the elitist underground music circles.
I don’t know if anyone’s being “shallow” about Gen’s appearance. But, come on, he’s a hideous freak. I don’t think anyone’s let that influence their like or dislike of any particular musical effort he/she/it has put forth.
I’ve not listened to any of the new stuff yet so I can’t really just that (I’ll try to hit some samples this week). But I have seen photos of Gen, and so it’s easier to comment on that . . .
S/He’s TERRIFYING!!!
I think s/he brings a whole new dimension to the band’s image. S/he creeps me out - and that’s what I’ve always wanted from TG: to be creeped out.
Sad news as I was genuinely looking forward to hearing the sequel to The Endless Not, which I hear was already in the works.
Anyway, Sleazy and Gen didn’t like each other.
If you read the trail of tweets between Brian Lustmord, Chris & Cosey - it sounds like none of them liked Gen. I agree with Void that Gen’s charisma adds a lot to the band, I just wish his vocals were actually better than they are.
Wow. did he have breast implants?
He just looks a like a bad drag queen.

P.S Hey Gen, Dolly Parton called. She wants her face back.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I actually really like Gen’s daughter’s “cover” of Are You Experienced? with Fred Giannelli. She sounds creepily like her dad…err mom…

The best tweet was this one from Lustmord: @chris_carter_ @coseyfannitutti He’s easily replaced. How many pretentious trans vocalist wankers can there be ? Ah, just the 1. Never mind.

He went through a bunch of plastic surgery to make himself look like his (now deceased) wife.

I saw both the Throbbing Gristle reunion and the newly formed Psychic TV perform within the span of a year or so and I must say that Genesis seemed much more enthusiastic with Psychic TV, and his voice just seemed to lend itself better to more traditional singing. Throbbing Gristle sounded great live, but Genesis just seemed to be going through the motions, and his screaming/shouting act, while I liked it when I was younger, now just seems to distract from the rest of the music.
It would be nice if Sleazy/Chris/Cosey could continue performing as a trio. I don’t even think they NEED a lead singer. (Those bastards are so overrated!0
Hopefully the three of them continue. Genesis is a character and hat’s all he added to it. Made the music seem even more stranger than it already was.
