Thrill Kill Kult Tour

Did anyone go yet? Turnout in [url “http://www.vimeo.com/1826367”]NYC was good I’d say. The first 20 minutes and the encore were spot on 1990, the rest was good with a few moments fishing in waters I don’t care for that much…

missed it, regret it. I would have liked to bullshit with Groovie. Was this at Gramercy? did the sound suck?

i saw them a little while back, May i think. Had a good time. Here’s some videos i took.

now, It was at Club Europa in Brooklyn and the sound was kick ass and spot on.

Saw them on thurs. at the middle east in boston,
it was a solid show, but not the greatest thing i’ve ever seen. the lineup now consists of groovie mann, the two keyboardists and one bomb gang girl. no bassist, no live drummer, no guitarist. Still, it was pretty entertaining. They had videos projected on a banner behind them the entire time and for once at the middle east, the sound wasn’t completely deafening. Setlist was:

Burning Dirt
A Daisy Chain 4 Satan
Sex On Wheelz
Days of Swine and Roses
Devil Bunnies
Nervous Xians
Do You Fear For Your Child(The Inferno Express)
Leathersex
Kooler Than Jesus
Lucifer’s Flowers
Delicate Terror
A Girl Doesn’t Get Killed By A Make Beliver Lover (Cuz It’s Hot)

Encore:
The Devil Does Drugs
Invasion(New Song)
Electrical Soul Wish

Invasion was actually pretty solid. Not as good as the Wax Trax era stuff, but ten times better than the lounge style crap they’ve put out lately. My only real complaint was that Final Blindness wasn’t included, but that’s just nitpicking. Groovie Mann definitely seemed like he was into the performance, I’ve read earlier reviews where people said he was drunk or stoned, if he was that night he certainly fooled me. See them now while their setlist isn’t loaded with crap.

I was always under the impression this song is called First Cut. Am I confused?!

I just listened to “Invasion” on the TKK Myspace. It isn’t bad, some of it’s really good, but it does tend to drag on too long.

There’s three versions of this song. The first was called “First Cut,” which I believe was one of their (sensibly) first songs. Sounds like it, too. It was remixed and put on “I See Good Spirits & I See Bad Spirits” as “…And This Is What the Devil Does!” It’s final incarnation, I believe, was “The Devil Does Drugs” on the “Kooler than Jesus” EP, with those “I live for drugs” girl samples.

I think.

saw this last night. pretty good show, although i was a bit dissapointed with the arrangements. like, you know in daisy chain, when he sings the verse part, instead iof it being all harsh and screamy it was all soft and spoken? i dunno. still good. kept waiting for him to unleash that voice he has, and only saw it a few times. mebbe he can’t do it anymore, or mebbe he just isn’t interested in that anymore.

either way, good time. except for the venue, i fucking hate club anything, sanctuary, whatever they call it now. no ventilation, expensive beer, stupid uppity goth patrons, shitty bartenders, no room, bad sound.
