Just gotta say, Ive been on a few band forums or chat rooms & this one is by far my favorite. Also miss the PISS ARMY from like 14 or so yrs ago…I remember Mrs Angie J was like always on there…Chris Connolly said something about her ruining Als long time friendships with him & sum other BOOK CLUB folks…I recall Frankie Nardiello mentioning something like this as well…perhaps Barkers fallout with Al is for the same reason!!!
Oh yeah, Im really glad that Alejandro & Reznor are still buddies…those pics of them hugging & stuff from last summer when they played at the same festival was totally epic & made me smile like a tween eating a whole tub of coffee ice cream while going apeshit to My Chemical Romance concert [:)][:P][cool][;)]

Chris never went on Piss Army, but I guess recently he’s been on a tirade about Angie . . . though this also existed several years earlier when Angie and Al were still together.
Angie would chime in quite often, actually, but she really let people run pretty rampant with their opinions and posts. I was never shy about saying what I thought about various projects and releases and made jokes at their expense all the time and she was always good natured about it all.

I never followed NIN or Trent, but I thought they were kind of on the outs back in the 2000’s. Anyway, good to see they’re chummin’ it up again either way.
I was trying to think the other day about people that Al was pals/ colleagues with that he remained friends with from past to present as it seems to largely be the exception and NOT the rule.

Jello and Gibby both come to mind.[/reply]
Hopes he reconciles with Paul Barker & Frankie Nardiello to at least be pals again if nothing else, ya know…sum great fond memories there for me as a long time fan.
Been listening to lotsa Dimmu Borgir lately…being that Ministry is signed to Nuclear Blast…I got to trying sum of the other bands on their roster …Belphegor & Bleeding Gods is gnarly good as well [pirate][pirate][:)][:P]
The latter also coincidentally pissed off a lot of their fanbase recently by being anti-Trump, leading some of them to call for boycotts of Nuclear Blast as a whole. Maybe the two of them teaming up will cause some Scanners-style head explosions.
Never bothered with many other forums been a prongs.org loyalist.
Although I was on this goofy one called cykospark briefly years ago… looking back it was pretty goddamn cringy.
I think the only reason I hung out on there was for this really hot punk rock chick.
The problem with other band forums is they’re all drones, they all like the same shit. Prongs is different we have a rich pool of music taste and we can all cherry pick each other’s shit and maybe find someone awesome we’ve been missing.

According to the interview with Jello in Al’s auto, Al turned on him for awhile around 1992 for releasing a Skatenigs album on Alternative Tentacles when Al had decided that Phildo and the other Skatenigs were public enemy #1. Supposedly, that was because Phildo was too happy when Al had writer’s block. That’s one reason why there wasn’t another Lard record until 1997.

I’m trying to imagine why a lot of Brujeria’s fanbase would think that a band formed in Mexico would be pro-Trump…

People are way too trigger happy with these boycotts nowadays, it’s fucking hilarious.
Sad that you cannot express your views or beliefs without it potentially costing you your lively hood because of intolerant sissified dipshits crying “BOYCOTT!” whenever something upsets their wittle tummies.
Just the other day there was a shit storm on twitter regarding Rosanne’s conservative views. People were calling for a boycott of her show lol. Happened to Tim Allen too I believe.
Seems like all citizens of both the far right and the far left of the political continuum are determined to make an ass of themselves whenever possible. Which further validates the horseshoe theory.

If you ever find a link for it please let me know. I don’t recall any of this and might’ve missed it all completely.

The whole Mexico thing, I believe, is just part of their created mythology (like GWAR being from Antartica). I don’t remember who all is in the band. I know there are some or all dudes of Mexican heritage, but I thought it was a fabrication by them in America. I love it and think it’s brilliant, so don’t take any of that as a dig.
I also bought one of my favorite shirts ever in Mexico (I’ll try and get a pic for y’all later). It’s a Brujeria shirt with a pic of Trump . . . it has a machete in his head and says “Fuck You, Puto!” and “Viva Presidente Trump”. It’s beautiful.
It’s been a few years since anyone thought Brujeria was “the real deal”. They’ve always walked the fine line between being a serious band and a joke band. And sometimes they’ve stepped over a bit further to either side, resulting in wonders like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFPJNJfd1yQ [laugh] In this video, you can also observe one of Brujeria’s alleged founding members, a mr. Billy Gould/“Guero Sin Fe”(Guy Without Faith?) from the mexican band Fe No Mas - another San Fransico connection aside from their debut EP’s being released on Alternative Tentacles and the owner of said label voicing the intro to “Raza Odiada”.
Not saying that noone from Brujeria are mexican, though - and of course they stand with the Mexicans and think Trump is a total idiot, like most educated people do. [;)]

The credits on Brujeria albums always cracked me up and were great little flags that let people with a little ambition and knowledge see that they were just fucking with people and having a laugh . . . .
They gave thanks to . . .
“Fe No Mas”
“Miedo Factoria”
“Gelatina”
I think RAZA ODIADA was the last album I bought.
I was getting kind of sick of the death metal scene around the same time, but those early Brujeria albums were fucking great (maybe the new ones are too, I just haven’t followed through).

Spot on with that credits bit, Sir. I like those early albums too, but the goofy stuff like the “Marijuana/Macarena” single made me love them even more. “Brujerizmo” from 2000 is straight/boring mostly, but the one they released last year, “Poncho Aztlan” is actually pretty good. Some fun to be had there, you might appreciate the spanish version of the Dead Kennedys classic “California Über Aztlan” if nothing else.
edit: ahahah, Gelatina! Hadn’t noticed that one before.

I did find that “Marijuana/Macarena” cut on YouTube a couple years back and loved it.
This is the shirt I have.
I don’t even care about politics, but it’s our President with a machete in his head. How could I pass it up?
Next year will mark my 20th year on this forum, which is hard to believe. I was 28, and only 10 years removed from high school, when I signed up on prongs. I just turned 47 in February.
I remember thinking that this forum was going to dry up after Ministry’s “retirement” in 2008, but everyone kept posting, and I kept checking in. Lately, I lurk more than post, but still visit daily.
