i’ve wondered this since before the day’s of the internet, anyway i’m listening to these side by side (album,b.inside single) it say’s remix but i can’t tell the difference if anything the remix is not as heavy, does anyone know what’s up with this? i thought one of al biggest complaints about mind was that the guitars are mixed so low, you think he would have fixed that on the remix like he did with tin omen single (which i prefer by the way)
There’s a couple spots where there’s an extra guitar riff or two. Not much difference at all. I had always wondered that myself, and had to play both tracks simultaneously to notice.
Aren’t the 12" remixes just longer?
Yeah the 12" has some longer riffs which is the only diference I can spot.
As for Tin Omen the original release of Rabies had Dolby Noise Reduction put over the entire album!! Since I had the 12" first I noticed immediately that Tin Omen on the album sounded wimpy in comparison.
Nettwerk put out a remastered version of Rabies in 1993, and you can tell a big difference in many of the songs.
Isn’t the 12" Remix of Thieves half a note higher? I have a version that’s seems to be like that (I noticed cause when I was playing along to the track with my guitar the difference was apparent). My version might just be a little fucked up. The Burning Inside remix however has the “Fire” sample and a few others featured in the music video.

Could be you need to adjust your turntable (or whoever dubbed it from vinyl needed to adjust theirs).

Isn’t this on CD as well? In the “BOX” set or something?
it is.
