The Reverend

Pulled out some Reverend Horton Heat tonight will I was grilling out. While I was listening to “Liquor in the front…” which is produced by Al. I realized how the song “yea right” is pretty much a ministry tune in the way it is arranged and recorded and produced. check it out…

distorted vocals, teeny-tiny snare, etc.

When I saw them live in the mid '90s the Rev. said something like “Everyone thinks Al Jourgensen did this song, but he wasn’t even in the fucking room when we wrote it!” but he may have been taking the piss.

I really like that CD. I saw him live in the 90’s…for a 3 piece…they rock.

I never got why the band didn’t like that record…maybe that has something to do with Al…maybe they just hated the production of it, not the end result?
