Not sure if anybody here has watched the new Jumanji movies with the Rock, Kevin Heart, Jack Back and Karen Gillan but they are fantastic! We’re watching the 2nd one right now and it’s great!
I would not categorize myself as a Jack Black fan in any way (I think the only thing I’ve really enjoyed him in was High Fidelity)… But Jack Black kills it in both these movies. I can’t deny the guy’s got some chops in these movies.

The best one in the first new one was easily Jack Black. He plays a teenage beautiful/popular girl who gets trapped in the body of jack black as the professor. And you would think that Jack Black would just act stereotypically gay but he doesn’t He does such a great job you would think that a teenaged girl was in the body of jack black. He has the mannerisms down, the speech patterns, the facial expressions. Just a real good performance.

In the New Jumanji sequel He plays a black kid that gets trapped in the body of Jack black as the professor. And again you would think he would just act as some stereotypically black character, but he nails it all again. You would think that he really is that black dude. He also switches during the movie so he ends up being a girl again for a short time… and again He just switches it on. Stellar fuckin job!!

But he’s number 2 in this new movie because Kevin Heart KILLS it as Danny Glover. Kevin Heart is supposed to be the Danny Glover character and he just Channels Danny Glover perfectly. You would think Danny Glover was Kevin Heart. Speech patterns, mannerisms, facial expressions. It’s all spot on!

The Rock is kinda the weakest one in the new one. He’s supposed to be Danny Devito, but He doesn’t really pull it off. He’s good in the movie but he’s just an annoying character not so much the annoying character that Danny Devito plays, though.

Their performances are on Par or better than Rob Lowe’s when he played Robert Wagner as #2 in Austin Powers

Give 'em a watch if you get the chance!

The first as in the first of the new ones or the first as in Robin Williams first?
I think the first of the new ones is better than the second one but not by much they’re both really solid movies! Good little adventures.

Well, shit. I thought it was just gonna be a bunch of CGI wank. And, while I think The Rock is a really cool cat, I’m still angry at him from when I watched (or tried to watch) “The Scorpion King”. I don’t think I’ve seen anything since, haha. I’ll give it a shot if I get the chance to see it.

Haven’t seen the second one yet, but the first one was a really pleasant surprise. I love Dwayne Johnson – the dude isn’t capable of taking himself seriously, which is refreshing.

That was totally my take on it too. Just a pleasant surprise. So much so that i was ready to see number two in the theaters but the timing never worked out.

I really like the rock in the first one. Its a damn shame jack black overshadowed everyone in the first film because everybody else turned in really good performances. Especially the rock playing a nerdy guy who now has the body of the rock and then bustin out that smoldering stare: hahaha too funny

I cant stand that the rocks movies so I tend to ignore most of his stuff. Also i heard these Jumanji movies are gamer based or something? Idk man… the original Robin Williams Jumanji will always be the only one I need tbh.

Openly admit I’m not when it comes to movies. Super picky. On the bright side I rarely walk into a crappy movie because I know what I want and usually entertained when I make a choice.
