I just went to the last show of this tour last night and it… was… QUACKTASTIC.
First it was Kill Radio, some band Jello signed onto Alternative Tenacles recently (werent that great), and I was right next to Jello and his lady friend (wife?) the whole time, but I was too much of a vagina to go up to him and be all nerdy, he was nice about it to other people though, so he seems like a way chill guy.
Second band was Altomont (sp?) which was Dale Crovers’ (Melvins drummer) other band which he played guitar and sang for. They were pretty rad, not as heavy as Melvins, but they rocked.
Then there was like weird messing-with-intruments-time with bass player of Melvins and Dale on drums, then King buzzo came in and they started playing some improv song which got every all wacky. They played all the good shit for about maybe 30-35 minutes, then Jello came onstage and they did their thing. They played stuff off Sieg Howdy and Never Breathe What You Cant See, and best of all… they did 3 Dead Kennedy songs (Chemical Warfare, California Uber Alles, Holiday In Cambodia)… and even bester of all, they did a Lard song, which was really surprising (Forkboy).
All in all, it was freaking kickass. Just wanted to share my experience, and also wanted to know, did anyone went to any of the shows on this tour? If so (or not) anyone got any bootlegs of these shows? Id love to hear that live Forkboy song for like song of the week er something. PEACE. [sly]
