The legendary Eddie Van Halen rip

This one hurts…

Just saw this, just Wow!

Man, I hate to hear this.

Shocked…sad for sure.

Shocked as well, terrible news.

i caught them in memphis in 1981, baby. the real deal.

Fair Warning tour…nice

Front row Hoosier dome 1988 monsters of rock.

Whether or not someone was a fan of Van Halen or not, this guy was an absolute behemoth in rock and roll and one of the most singularly influential artists to steer hard rock and metal in a different direction and take it to the next level, pushing everyone along with it. He set a new standard and for everyone else it was just a game of catch up for a long time. This is crushing to the music community. Much love and strength to his family, friends, and fans.

Dude, we should start a Ticket stub thread. I’ve got shitloads of stubbs. truth be told when you showed yours I looked for mine but couldn’t find it. might be in the parents attic.

Crushed to see this news yesterday. What a talent. In addition to his guitar prowess, he was pretty darn good with keyboards. I read recently that he composed and arranged much of “1984” in his home studio. Who doesn’t instantly recognize the first few bars of “Jump”?

I remember watching a Doc about van halen, where DLR was pissed about the 1984 record because van halen wrote the whole album on keys. And DLR thought there wasn’t going to be any guitar. Same doc said his parents were professional musicians. His dad played the accordion and his mom the piano or something like that but basically his dad made his living through music so Eddie was always around music growing up… (I could be mixing all these details up; the only thing I’m sure of is he grew up around music)

That would be awesome…ive kept every stub since my first concert in 1980(yeah I’m a fucking nerd)…couldn’t even tell u how many I have…its absurd…they take up a whole cabinet in my place…

You should get a book or something for them. I’m sure they make stub books. I could swear I’ve seen them on ebay…

Right on.
when you said you had cabinet full of them i figured that must be a bitch if you’re trying to find one and the books would be a cool little project to put them in order by date or by artist or artist & date etc… certain mundane tasks hold my attention like that. I like rolling coins too. lol

Yeah I hear ya…these are the perfect days for me to engage in mundane tasks seeing i haven’t worked since March and no end in immediate sight…do people still roll coins or do they just throw them in those fucking machines? You are talking about rolling coins in paper, right? Seems like an archaic task haha…

Yep, talking about rolling coins in those paper holders. at least one person still rolls coins. :grinning: I hate those coin rolling machines. What a rip off. there’s no quality control. How do you know the machines are taking the right percentage from what you dump in there or even giving back the right amount for the gift cards they claim to give for no fee? If you don’t know how much you’re dumping in there you don’t know what 5% is or whatever it claims to charge. you could pour $1500 in there and you’d never know cause the machine said you only had $250 or whatever number it wants to say you dumped.
I guess it comes down to you’re trusting some corporate machine to accurately count your money for you with no way to fact check it. Those machines are the devil!! /rant

Sorry about your job, man. I hope you’re not suffering.
