The great Ray Liotta rip

What a visceral actor…total bummer

That guy was an absolute boss.
Very sad to hear this.
I just looked him up. Dude was only 67.

“Goodfellas” is of course the quintessential Ray role that everyone will immediately reference, but I really loved “Unlawful Entry”. Kurt Russell has always been a favorite of mine and seeing those two square off against each other is magical and terrifying.

RIP Ray.

Saw him up close once, dude was intimidating.

Danny Fletcher gone too. Double whammy

I never followed Depeche Mode, so I’m only learning this guy’s name today, but I saw that he was a founding member. And the keyboards/synth were really the foundation of their sound as far as I’m concerned (casual “fan” at best).

This cat was only 60! Very sad. Much love to his friends, fans, and family.

Yeah, I never have, but in recent years I was thinking it’s probably one of those live experiences that would make me completely rethink the band. It happens very rarely for me, but it really is a wonderful experience (most recently for me with Rolling Stones in 2021 and Rammstein in 2016).

I don’t listen to much Rammstein but I know their live shows are legendary…I definitely want to see one at some point…serious pyro…

I couldn’t care less about their music, to be honest.
I’ve never owned a single album or anything.
They happened to be the other headliner at a big festival in Mexico and I’d gone just to see Twisted Sister. I didn’t know a single song of Rammstein’s, but it all sounded good enough live. But the entire production… holy Hell. It was seriously an impressive spectacle. It’s an all out assault of the senses, and sometimes you literally feel like you’re going to get burned alive, hahaha.
Completely blew me away as a live act.

lol yea brain fart I knew that

The first post I saw about it started with “OMG, FLETCH DIED!”
I suppose that was his nickname (I don’t follow DM, so I’m clueless) but I immediately thought that Chevy Chase had died.

Fletch Lives!

I was never a DM fan either but they were always around kinda like duran duran so i was kinda shocked to see him gone. Just kinda figured theyd always be there since they always were

I ran into him a couple of years ago in LA and he looked really weird, like he had way too much plastic surgery done on his face.

I bought pretty much that EXACT brown leather guido jacket (that Ray is wearing in the pistol whip scene) about 25 years ago. I was with my wife in Hollywood and tried one on at a whim and my wife said “You look like Donnie Brasco”. SOLD.

Ray Liotta was the royal king of the Hollywood pox faces. He worshiped at the throne (faces?) of F. Murray Abraham and Edward James Olmos.

Anyone else know of a major actor who picked at their acne relentlessly as a teen?

Freddie Krueger? No wait… that was something different. :grinning:

Not an actor, but I remember 30 years back when Stuttering John would do those ambush interviews for Howard Stern, one time he caught up with MIKE WALLACE (60 Minutes). John fired off some zingers to rile up Mike and then he finished with “H H H H H HOW C C C COME YOU’RE S S S S S SIXTY-FIVE Y Y Y YEARS OLD B B B BUT YOU S S S S STILL HAVE ACNE?”
