The End is Here + recent interviews

Now there was a rant!

Al is healthier now, whatever else you think of him. He’s a different person too. Heroin does that to you, it does change your perspective and personality, I’ve seen this with other recovered users I’ve known (including my cousin). So there you go, he’s grown older and healthier. You may not like who is he is now, but so what? I prefer him alive.

if al lives or dies it’s his own business. he’s not the only one in recovery. and it’s painful for me to say it, but how the hell can a guy who drinks multiple bottles of wine every day (unless he’s stopped)be recovering? drugs, wine, whatever. it’s your focus and your life.lots of more people have said "It’s enough, " and gotten sober.
i don’t for one second believe al’s sticking to sobriety. been around his and my own block too long.
there is no fine line . you are or not sober.

Well, yeah, I’d prefer clean AND sober.
But if it’s one or the other, I’ll take the option that keeps him ambulatory and putting out records.

I do think it’s odd that Al claims he’s sobor when he drinks at least one bottle of red wine a day.

clean and sober are the same. it’s obvious you are not a drunk or drug addict.that is what we call ourselves even if we haven’t indulged any time lately or will soon.just because someone can walk and talk doesn’t mean he’s sober.
and i wish the new music was inspiring. it isn’t.

How much is it? If I were to buy recent ministry stuff I’d probably use ebay. Hardly anywhere in melbourne, that I have time to frequent, stocks ministry and if they do its expensive because it’s “imported”.
The wanky “underground” music stores would probably stock it, but again, because they are so “underground” they would whack another $5 on top of the import cost because they don’t sell as much stuff.

I do think it’s odd that Al claims he’s sobor when he drinks at least one bottle of red wine a day.

No, he claims he’s clean (that is to say: no longer uses hard drugs) but not sober (that is to say: continues to drink). I’m pretty sure he’s said almost exactly that.

The last remix wasn’t expensive. And believe me I’m as tight as a gnat’s chuff.

would be nice to hear from the genius himself. won’t happen. too busy slinging back the bordeaux maybe.

i wish al well.

lets have a pizza party to celebrate al. al, are you listening?
i suspect no.you can’t have a scripted lifestyle tailored to your current way of life. or maybe, just maybe, you can.

my fact checking revealed that al has not spoken to ian mackaye in a very long time.still has not bothered to pick up the phone and talk to ian himself.
if a new pailhead happens, it won’t be the original players. no way.maybe there’s a new version of pailhead envisioned by the new fantasy ministry camp.

I read recently an old Chris Connelly interview where he said he regarded Revco as a band with a revolving door. Or words to that effect. Maybe all AJ side projects are as such?

Connelly = pusillanimous stumblebum.

NO kinda guy to hang an entire band on.

disagree. CC was one of the strongest elements of the revolting cocks. “In the Neck”, “Cattlegrind” without chris?? i don’t think so.

Chris is just as vital to revco as Al And Luc were, imo. Although luc’s influence clearly dimished, sadly.

chris was the voice of the cocks at their best.
when i get my advance copy of his book, i’ll sleep well.

I didn’t think they could do it without Connelly either (the Spiderbaby guy is a piss-poor substitute) but Josh Bradford changed my mind on the tour. I sure hope he’s still in on the upcoming album.
And Van Acker DEFINITELY needs to be a part of it.

i agree about spyderbaby, he just ruined it all with his manson-wannabe vocals.

shame luc didn’t lay any vox tho

and the biafra tracks sound just like lard…

Josh was a great new addition and a v entertaining performer. I’d be gutted if he’s not included on future Revco releases/tour.
