The first album was an absolute cracker i thought…and what a superb line up too!
Jah Wobble - Bass
Geordie Walker - Guitar
Martin Atkins - Drums
Chris Connelly - Vocals
All of the members sounded great together…Jah’s Bass was thundering, Chris’s vocals were fantastic, Geordie’s riffs were supreme and Martins drumming was great.
I never bothered with the 2nd album because as far as i know the line up was completely different??? Does anyone here know what the line up was on the 2nd album and if they’ve got it, what it’s like???
Regardless i’d still like to get hold of it i suppose…
Best song from the self titled beast is “Expand”. The drumming is badass, Chris’s vocals are ultra crisp and scathing and last but not least along comes Jah’s Bass to just blow shit up!!!
So judging from the strikethrus, it was Connelly, Atkins and Seibold on the second one.
I believe that’s right, and it is a really good album. A little different flavor from the first, but I think the addition of Siebold makes for a good change.
Saw Damage Manual at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms about 10 years ago (10 years! Where does the time go???).
They played at what I can only describe as “an irresponsible volume level”, my ears were ringing for days.
Was a good gig, Atkins using his head on the cymbals was a touch of class.
The second album has a couple of winners (“I am war again” and “South Pole Fighters” come to mind) but overall I always found the EP to be the best work the group did. First full length got bogged down by too many remixes and a little less energy than “One”.
Though I agree that Murder Inc. was slightly superior to the Damage Manual material. Come on… just fire up the self-titled track, “Hole In the Wall” or if you’re feeling in the mood for some drinking music, “Ms. Whiskey Name.”

That was a brilliant show, irresponsible volume levels, gah. Tinnitus for a week.
what was the name of the other band that played with em?
Can’t remember who they were but I remember just before the last song they played the guy thanked Damage Manual for bringing them along and warned us all about DM being loud.
He weren’t wrong…
I like the Damage Manual a lot. The thing that confuses me is that I think Scissor Quickstep is far and away their best track, but I never hear anybody else mention it, and it doesn’t get the remix love that the other songs have gotten either.
