Gyruss also KICKED MAJOR ASS!!! Not only that but Gyruss had the coolest video game soundtrack…infact i believe no other video game has had as cool a soundtrack yet…except the one Amon Tobin did for Splinter Cell maybe??
One of my other all-time favs was Elevator Action!
I remember there was this one Spy Hunter machine at a movie theater growing up that someone had seriously fucked with the controls. Your car went REALLY really fast and was incapacle of moving forward; just diagonally in a very jerky motion. Me and my friends would place bets on who could last the longest without veering eratically off road/hitting someone and dying, which usually happened in a matter of seconds.
I can only imagine what kind of hell it was to get the car into the supply trucks.
Awwww Splatterhouse was great. The home versions never did that thing justice but the arcade game was tops. I guess my favorites were probably Qbert, Tron, Dragon’s Lair/Space Ace and Ghost and Goblins. As for the home game market, any old pc nerds here who used to dig the Sierra games from the 80’s like Space Quest/Leisure Suit Larry etc?
