That Metal Show

[reply][reply]I seem to recall that they were the opener on tour for someone.
Dammit, now I have to look that up because it will bug me.

Some band had 3 dudes sitting around talking on stage as an opener? That’s setting the bar pretty low as far as openers go… no matter how cool trunk and Florentine are[/reply]

No, they did their comedy routine as the opener.[/reply]

Comedy routine? Good grief.

I saw Florentine in between acts on that jager tour with Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer a couple years ago. Of course, the crowd would have none of it. Tough gig.

Florintine will always be known for one thing to me: Special Ed on Crank Yankers.

“YAAAAYYYYY!!! I got mail! YAAAAYYYY!!!”

He was awesome on “Crank Yankers”, but I don’t know what retards think we want to see a third tier comic while waiting for our violent metal show.

I’d be booing too.

Yeah it never works out…I’ve been to a few shows where comedians come out before a metal act and it just never translates…metal heads are a restless bunch and they don’t go to a metal show to laugh and clap at some guy talking in to a mic…probably the only time it could have ever worked out was if Kinison or Dice were an opener in the 80s…those are basically the only situations I think of were it would even remotely work…

On the most recent episode of TMS that Don Jameison guy read a little excerpt from Al’s book…the part about him shaving Courtney Love’s box…there was some awkward laughter from the audience…Frankie Bello from Anthrax was a guest and he seemed to enjoy it immensely…

I’ll have to look for that one. Thanks.

It’s the latest with Dave Ellefson and Bello…it’s a particularly cringe-worthy episode…

In case you missed it, Don Jamison’s album pick on this week’s episode was Ministry’s Enjoy The Quiet.

Between the book reading and this, I guess he’s a pretty big fan.
