I’ve always been told to wear the wrap for at least an hour, which i did. They didn’t plastic wrap my other one, this being the first. But an hour or so later, I took it off and all is well. Swelling went down a ton overnight, and it seems to be healing nicely, although, i’ve got a ways to go.
I unwisely purchased a couple albums after I got mine done, so I was a tad strapped for cash, and therefore was without A&D. Cocoa butter did the job juuuust fine, though.
It could be a placement and/or depth issue. The lower 1/3 of my first one (it’s about 5 to 6" inches in diameter and touches my ribs and hip bone) formed blood-mixed-with-ink droplets before he put the plastic wrap on it. It continued after he put the plastic wrap on it.
I had some blood too. Main reason why I kept it wrapped for as long as I did. Probably wouldn’t have hurt to have kept it wrapped longer, but it seems to be healing fine. I’m doing everything i’m supposed to be doing. It’s starting to get scabby at times, which then I just use lotion or the ointment, I alternate.
