Syria

Oooo McCain, I’m afraid he’d just neglect his presidential duties by playing poker on his phone, like he did at the Syria hearing. What a redneck LOL.

HAHA!!! Please tell me this actually happened . . . and send me a link.[/reply]

xD it happened alright

Think he lost some money as well. As much as the republicans are for war, they’re even more against Obama. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them fight him on this.

Think he lost some money as well.

yeah, he said on cnn he lost “thousands” on it. Nice of him to gamble with his own money in the capitol this time.

Much as I love all of you, I’ve kinda realized over the years that Prongs is the absolute last place I wanna bring up my political views. Not outta fear of derision or confrontation, but because I’ve fully come to terms that I’m slightly less batshit crazy than the folks that believe the world is run by a cabal of sorcerer reptilians that live on the moon and harvest human pain and suffering brought on by manipulating humans to kill each other and destroy their own planet mother.

… Actually, I’m not even sure if that’s a parody or a direct summation of my thoughts anymore.

Regardless, fucking up Syria is the American dick-measuring contest that was Iraq, that was Vietnam, that was so on and so on. I’m not having it, and neither is the rest of the world. Russia and China, the two countries we DON’T want walking out the U.N. and having Syria’s back, have up and done just that, and what in the fuck, Chief. I’ve read Huxley. I’ve read Orwell. I’ve played Fallout. I see in the long run where this could possibly head toward and I’m done.

I’m gonna pay my bills, work on my knee, paint some kick ass canvas, bump records, and let the bombs fall where they may. Seems like everyone on this planet wants to turn it into a parking lot. Have fun with that, guys. I got shit to do.

If it’s any consolation, bombing Syria probably won’t end up causing World War III; it’s just a really bad idea that won’t help Syrians at all.

NO I WILL NOT MAKE OUT WITH YOU!

Whatever. I’m just saying the Rep’s love war. It’s a huge money maker for the wealthy and killing the lower/middle class people…Win Win!

You geniuses know that there are also war-mongering Democrats too, right?

Uh, what’s his name? The big wheel in office right now, Democrat, ran campaigns that focused on ending wars and occupying other countries, bringing soldiers and jobs back to the U.S., I voted for him twice (like a fucking idiot), etc.

Anyway, funny story, he’s actually not opposing getting involved with Syria’s bullshit. In fact, and here’s the kicker, he’s putting the option on the table and letting a group of moronic, war hungry, idiots, who don’t give a shit about anything other than making a profit in any way possible, most of whom probably didn’t even know there was any sort of conflict in Syria until right now, the ability to vote and decide if the U.S. gets involved.

All those Reps that love war so much? He’s letting them have their say. All those spineless Dems that talk a big one but don’t have the same conviction and commitment as the opposing party? He’ll likely just sit and watch them (his own party) get punked into voting for our involvement in another country’s mess of shit. About 80% of Americans disapprove of congress and yet the man many of those same Americans voted for is letting congress have a major influence in the decision. http://www.gallup.com/poll/163964/congress-approval-rating-remains-near-historical-lows.aspx

I understand that he needs to play ball and give congress the option of approval. But this just feels like another time where he tries too damn hard to be “bipartisan” instead of trying to do the right thing for the country - or what many Republicans presidents did, basically saying, “No. Go fuck yourself. This is what we’re doing.” In situations like this apathy can be just as bad. Especially when someone who could influence and be a leader is the one being so damn apathetic.

Thank you. I agree 100%.
I’d actually have a lot more respect if he’d just say, “All righty then, folks! I’m the President and we’re gonna bomb some mofos and this is why. . . .”. If you believe in something, STAND by it!!! Don’t just play these idiotic games where you try to put it off on someone else . . . “Well, uhh, gosh, this is what everyone wants . . . .”

You stupid pussy, Obama! Show some damn integrity. If you’re against war, then SHOW IT!!! If you think we need to bomb these guys SHOW IT!!! You are the President of the United States. You have an incredible amount of power at your disposal . . . . Quit leaving your balls in someone else’s hands and asking for permission to wear them every once in a while.

I’m against our involvement in Syria. Don’t get me wrong. But I lost all respect for Obama because of the wishy-washy way he’s dealing with this crap.

Either it’s important and you believe in it, or you don’t. Quit looking for someone else to put the blame on.

Loser.

unfortunately, you’re right on the $$ with this one. It still irks me that he attempts to negotiate with people that have no interest what-so-ever in compromising with him.

And as gunnar said, a shitty attempt at trying to pass the buck. he’s gonna ask the people that always want war if they want to go to war now? wow, how very bipartisan of him. I wonder what they’ll say.

fuck congress. listen to the people. in a country of 300 million 80% is a lot of fucking people

I’m just so disillusioned with everything that I don’t even care anymore. I know that sounds bad and that I should be concerned more with what my government/nation is doing. I should believe that my opinion and vote counts but it doesn’t.

No one in the government gives a shit what Joe taxpayer thinks. No one cares if we support their decisions. America is a corporation ruled by a CEO, CFO, Board of Directors just like any business. Has any company listen to their workers? Which is why, oh yes I’m gonna say it, Perot would have made the perfect President. America is a company. As much as we all want to believe in National Pride it is not a reality.

So use big fat markers to make your protest posters. Lie in front of a tank, organize, march, rebell. It doesn’t matter.

This probably goes here . . . . and not ONLY in the Burt Reynolds thread . . .

Yeah, I really hope this works out and we fuck off.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I read it. I was like, “Wait, what? This actually WORKED?”
