"Sweet Dreams"

I recently heard Ministry “Sweet Dreams” on spotify and I must say, this is a really cool heavy version of the song, but didn’t someone pull Al aside and say, “Hey man, manson already did that”. Manson clearly owes so much to Ministry it just seems an odd choice to cover the same song one of your students already did and quite well. Frankly, Al’s always come off a little bitter of NIN and Manson success, I’m surprised he chose the cover

It’s a cool cover and easy to wonder why he did it. I’ve heard of Al talking shit towards Trent, but I’ve never heard of anything towards Manson. Furthermore I just read an interview where he’s asked about the Greatest Tricks material and he completely dodged the question… I’d like to hear what he has to say about the new Everyday is Halloween.

well, it is his label and he did approve everything, so i’m guessing he dug it all at the time to various degrees

All that shit came out on Cleopatra.
I suspect he needed some easy money and they were offering.

This.

It just smells like easy money to me too. Some of those tracks just feel like he phoned 'em in while he was taking a crap or eating a sandwich. “Hey, Mikey! Throw me that song book. We need to pick 12 more covers because I promised them we’d have this album recorded by tomorrow.”

Seriously.

I wish he would have stopped covering Sabbath at Supernaut.

i teeched Al everything he know!
I invented this shit 4 reel!

This just randomly came up on my iPod.

Didn’t Al say he sold some songs to The Eurythmics in the early '80s when he was young and hungry? Wouldn’t it be neat if Sweet Dreams was one of them…
