Superjail!

Anyone catch this show on Adult Swim? I guess the series ended in Dec. but I’ve just come across it and I can’t get enough of it. I’ts this psychedelic, surrealist cartoon that is super violent.

It’s absolutely ridiculous, but no less entertaining.

I prefer the Venture Brothers!

Yeah, I noticed that show and I love it!!! It reminds me of MTV’s “liquid television” back in the early 90’s when MTV was actually decent in that they showed crazy animation and decent music at least in their late hours!

It truly is a ridiculous show, but funny as hell! Best thing Adult Swim has done in a long, long time…

I came to the conclusion that anything remotely animated on MTV was godly. Even when they started dropping the ball, they had a few good things (undergrads, spiderman, etc.). Sadly MTV isn’t MTV anymore, and the only good things remotely animated are either on comedy central or adult swim.

I was very into Liquid TV and most of MTV’s old animation block (anyone remember The Head?) Superjail is indeed awesome. The animation is pretty damn amazing, it looks like it costs a lot to make, especially next to most of the other shows (not including Venture Bros which is also good stuff). I think it’s made by the company that used to do Wonder Showzen which was officially the last good thing ever to play on an MTV station.

I’m trying to find this old ass MTV commercial that was from the planet of the Letter B and the people were in the shape of the letter B and everything they said was “B” and then one day an alien spaceship shows up and everyone is frightened and then the doors opens up and the letter M is standing there with a little t and a little v and they make the noise MMMMMMMMMMM “t” “v”
great shit!!
or the guy that goes into a fast food restraunt and orders a vat of grease and he wants to “drink it down until his heart explodes…”
that was my favorite commercial for a while

I remember that bumper well. I thought it was cool. MTV even had a special at one point showing all their animated ads. Fun stuff.

Anyone remember The Brothers Grunt?

Also, this was probably what was playing when I was passed out at age 11 after The State:

Ah, the memories. Speaking of the State, I thought I recognized the voice of the Warden on Superjail and watched the credits to realize that it is David Wain from the State and Stella.

Venture Bros. is also primo Adult Swim. Did anyone see Korgoth of Barbaria? Watching Superjail made me remember seeing the super violent pilot for Korgoth of Barbaria. I guess it wasn’t picked up as a series, but it was cool. If I remember right, the animation was similar. I wonder if it was made by the same artist/studio?

They had a kick ass show on Mtv for like a month or 2 that was almost like a black beavis and butthead called station zero… anybody ever catch that?

the state was freaking hilarious! sad thing about that sketch group is that everything they have done since is pure crap! reno 911 sucks ass, which irks me cause that show has such potential (I mean just look at the Super Troopers movie- if they would run that show the way broken lizard ran troopers… that show would be #1 rated on comedy central!) and it’s most of the state people… michael showalter (Doug: I’m outta heeeeere) i don’t think has done anything funny since, same with michael ian black… The state WAS great though.

Venture Bros. is fucking awesome as well. Brock Sampson is the new Duke Nukem.

Korgoth was pretty epic as well. Essentially Brock Sampson with a bigger knife.
