OK.
But I gotta say, there’s nothing on nin.com, echoing the sound, theninhotline.com, mansonusa.com, ninwiki.com, etc.
So I’m gonna take that with a grain of salt.
Or ten.
XTORT is the best KMFDM album in my opinion. Angst, Nihil, Money are all great too. Gunter and En Esch were great. Connelly on vocals was nice too. The stuff with Skold was ok but a step down. His Manson stuff was mostly garbage flavored trash.

i like Itchy Bitchy… u got to relax in ur sex complex
“Itchy Bitchy” is one of my favorite KMFDM tracks… I’m actually working on a cover of it (though it’s more along the lines of “Naff Off,” musically speaking.)
Anyway, back on topic… I just got “Extra, Vol. 1.” I gotta say, I’m impressed. I wondered why “Thank You,” “Crazy Horses,” “Ooh La Lah,” and “Agogo” weren’t on the track listing, but the Kap’n provided this little disclaimer in the booklet…
Please note: all cover songs and songs not on official KMFDM releases (such as material from soundtracks and various artists compilations) are not included with KMFDM “Extra” as they will be released in their own collections.
Damn. Ah, well.
That’s odd.
Crazy Horses was a Godlike b-side.

I guess that means he’s got another cd of old material coming out sooner of later
I’m guessing about SIX more discs of old stuff.
Maybe more if Sascha decides to release some outtakes/demos/rarities and whatnot.
Dammit, Al… why can’t YOU do this for your fans?
That’s odd.
Crazy Horses was a Godlike b-side.
I know, right?
I guess it’s proof that Sascha’s gonna release a better covers album than Ministry has.
I was always surprised sascha got away with stealing lines from old frank zappa songs and getting away with it. Gail (zappas wife) is kinda the sue the cover bands because this is not your music kinda woman.

That surprised me too. I remember being shocked the first time I listened to “Overnight Sensation” and I realized all my favorite KMFDM lines were ripped off from Zappa.
Despite “UAIOE” being essentially a covers album (they were either covering Zappa, Deep Purple, or themselves… Hell, I think the only “original” cuts on the record are “Murder,” “UAIOE” “Thrash Up!” and “Ganja Rock,” even though the latter shares the SAME music as the album version of “Rip the System”), it’s definitely one of my fave KMFDM records.
I could totally fuck someone’s shit up to “En Esch.” Makes sense, 'cause Tom Araya’s sampled in there.
EDIT: Well, goddamn. Apparently, “UAIOE” borrows a whole mess of lyrics from Zappa’s “I’m the Slime.” Let’s make that three… hell, TWO original tracks. Still, I love this record to death. THANKS, WIKIPEDIA!
All this KMFDM talk got me to pick up “Extra”. There’s lots of stuff I’m not so keen on but man, the good stuff is really good and the Adrian Sherwood remix of “More & Faster” is fantastic, isn’t it? The video for that track is what got me into KMFDM lo those many years ago (1989 or 90 whenever that pink Wax Trax video sampler came out). A lot of the tracks I was into back then really don’t hold up but that one really does. Sascha’s voice, however, tends to sound a little poopy if I listen to it too much.
I wonder if En and Gunter are seeing a dime from these re-releases

Agreed. “More & Faster’s” one of the better KMFDM tracks. “Extra” is a bit hit and miss for incorporating everything from such a relatively large gap in time, bt what’s good, as you said, is good.
About the Kap’n’s voice, I totally agree. That’s one of the reasons “WDYKD” is my favorite KMFDM record: he tends to wail and scream a lot more than use his flat monotone drawl, which I think suits him much better. Leave the low end to Esch and Raymond.
Perfect example: “Ooh La La.” Sascha’s high-pitched, forced-out vocal delivery perfectly complements Esch’s nasty snarl.

Speaking of Ooh La La, that’s one of my favorite underrated KMFDM songs. kinda reminds me of the naive era where the guitars are in the background, while the ultra heavy beats are the main attractions.
…AND THEN I FELT MYSELF FALLING INSANE!!!

Yay?
I think I’d recommend playing those on shuffle.
strange how once you hit xtort the drop off on excessive singles really hits… i think they had the one for rules, the mdfmk single, and then boots i think was the last one.
maybe they’ll get desperate and put some of their remixes for other artists on there… like that one they did for metallica “king nothing”
