Was reading Al will appear on the new Soulfly lp coming out in Aug.
No doubt it’ll be yet more of the same from Soulfly. That guitarist uses the same little gimmicks over and over again, it makes it all seem to similar for my tastes. I saw them a few years ago and Max made no effort to play his guitar at all, he seemed to be just wearing it for decoration, hahaha. They were ok though.
How ironic since Soulfly replaced Ministry at Ozzfest 2000. Soulfly did well enough that afternoon, but I would’ve much rather seen Ministry and I’m also not entirely sure they were worth missing Static-X for.
And what’s strange is that Al seems to be behind this resurgence in nu metal…

And all those bands have had Tony Campos on bass.

What’s stranger is it’s from a Cuban-born, Rocky Mountain-raised, hippie-turned-redneck with dreadlocks who loves country music, yet rarely performs it and instead performs hard rock/thrash metal.
Hell of a contradiction, isn’t it?

Also, a bunch of misinformed people seem to credit him with inventing industrial music.
