A fun little game to play(ok, I’m a little bored)…

The gyst of it :

You are a ‘celebrity’ and you have been given a spot on a radio show (pretend like you are a famous musician or you have your own cooking show or something) and you are asked to play 10 songs…

BUT…

The ten songs MUST be songs you REALLY like from albums you DON’T like by artists you DO like (the songs also cannot be taken from a compilation or a live album or a soundtrack or a remix album. And NO artist can be represented more than once. And NO death/black/doom/thrash metal and NO noise music).

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Into My Arms (taken from the 1997 album The Boatman’s Call)

That album is great in my book. That particular tune is a hum-dinga though and does out-shine the rest of the album. They play that tune in Gettin Square.

It IS hard. I should make it more clear…

You need to LOVE the song, HATE the album it comes from and be a big fan of the artist who released the album.

There’s not too many examples I can think of.

I could also have included Air Dance by Black Sabbath (taken from the Never Say Die album)…but I’m not exactly a big fan of Black Sabbath. I kinda…don’t mind them. Although I do love Vol. 4 (as everyone should).

Wow, this might be tough. Peligro, I happen to love Momentary Lapse of Reason, probably my second or third favorite Floyd album. I like all the albums from my favorite artists, because, well, otherwise they wouldn’t be my favorites [:P] So, I’ll do this based off my least favorite albums, by those artists.

Gary Numan is the essential study in how to look like a bad actor, and how to successfully pull that one off as a musician, and I applaud him. Yeah. the tube. yeah, the tube. how can you NOT love that aesthetic?

There Was A Time by Guns And Roses, off of the album Chinese Democracy.

I worked some two of their shows in 07, or 08, and remember hearing that song over and over for 40 minutes during the first nights soundcheck. It was magical.
