How many of you seen it, and your thoughts on it.

Aren’t there like 58 different movies now about Kurt Cobain and his so-called suicide?

Kurt didn’t kill him self…it was murder.
I haven’t seen this one, do you recommend it? To be honest i really don’t care for Nirvana but i’m interested in the circumstances of his death. I watched that recent Montage of Hell film and fucking hated it. I enjoyed Nick Broomfield’s Kurt and Courtney though, it’s quite a muck-raker of a documentary. She really is one hateful cow.

How do you know?
He was El Duce’s accomplice…
He was El Duce’s accomplice…
it makes total sense!

Yeah, Montage of Heck sucked. I didn’t care for Kurt & Courtney either. Not sure I care enough to invest the time in another hack documentary.
When it comes to the so-called suicide of Kurt Cobain, there are typically two sides.
Side 1: Kurt was a suicidal junkie who apparently reached his breaking point and then wrote a suicide note and killed himself to no big surprise based on the recent history leading up to his suicide. Case closed. The end. Let’s get on with our lives.
Side 2: Kurt was MURDERED, because oh my God, you guys, do you even know how awesome Nirvana was and how much of a fucking cunt Courtney was? So, like, seriously, right? He was fucking murdered for sure by Courtney because she sucks and Bleach is like my favorite album 4-EVR!!!
Hahahahahahaha!
I’m not sure why people need to find conspiracy in everything. I’d say it’s probably because most people’s lives are boring and this gives them something intriguing to think about and discuss. Perhaps that’s a bit cynical of me, but it’s really the only explanation.

It’s definitely a valid point. JG Ballard always said that the most frightening thing about the future wouldn’t be the potential for apocalyptic warfare, alien invasion, etc., but just the fact that modern people’s widespread boredom would lead them down increasingly weirder and obsessive paths.

Nailed it.

Yeah, the whole show just made me want to fucking vomit, grim shit with unlikable, whining junkie scum.

Yeah, now how come there were never any investigative docs on the mysterious circumstances of El Duce’s death?
I think at least Gunnar will agree with me that [url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xcZ5sGsINg]his performance on Wally George’s Hot Seat is some of the finest American television ever recorded. As it says behind Wally’s desk, USA IS #1!!!
Yeah, the two best Hot Seat episodes were the one with The Mentors and the one with GWAR.
This one kinda fucked me a bit.
I said I’d never watch it nor Montage
Yet I watched Montage (disgusted) so I had to watch Soaked in Bleach.
I’m a sensitive cat. I’ve my emotions invested in this one for ages.
I grew up in Olympia. I remember , at the age of 8, turning left onto BLVD Rd
Hearing on the radio that he passed. I never thought he killed himself and only believed even more over the years that he didn’t.
I’d met Dylan Carlson a few months before I watched this one.
Been a fan since watching Kurt and Courtney (crooked axis…)
So seeing someone play him was a bit funny. But I was really crushed towards the end. The “pay off” scene. That really fucked me. I spent a good decade strung out and have recently lost two acquaintances (drug related).
I don’t recall reading about that scene but I could almost sense how that might feel. In your 20s, strung out, best friends dead and his girl had the connect. For what it’s worth I dug it. However About a Son gets me every time. When Lanegan hits , I fall to pieces.
