He did mention that he hated some guy named Josh and I guess everyone assumed it was Josh Bradford? IDK. I do remember hearing something about a wankstorm that went down in 2010 involving Revco’s MySpace, though.
Okay. Yeah, I think there was a Josh mentioned but it was some promoter or manager or something. He only said good stuff (that I heard) about Bradford.
The “wankstorm” that you “remember hearing” about was merely one butthurt former Ministry fanboy who was voluntarily doing the Ministry and Revco myspace stuff and who took it upon himself to throw a bunch of idiotic accusations and assumptions up on Prongs and PB4PB. NONE of the Revco guys ever came out to say anything.[/reply]
Interesting. So why did new Revco die, anyway? Bad sales? Lack of interest? The Magic 8-Ball telling Al “outlook not so good”?
I didn’t listen to any of this but from what I gather it was poorly coordinated and consisted of Al bashing former members… again. Or was their anything else worth mentioning? Did they play that cool sounding intro myself and others got ragers from? And if so how badly disappointed will I be when I finally hear the full song?

Are we talking about a certain domesticated fowl that was under the effects of rabies and also seemed to be mentally handicapped and shocked the universe just by being able to actually turn on his computer? Because if we are then yeah, he certainly had a lot of fucked up things to say and plenty of pointless gossip to spread around that nobody asked to hear about (or cared about, really).
Hopefully word got out about his antics and that twat never works in even that small section of the industry again. Unprofessional is an understatement.

All of the above, I’d say. I think Al wanted to do something completely different from before and take a different roll . . . . but that’s certainly not what most of the fans (i.e. ME) wanted. It just seemed embarrassing to me. I might have actually gone out to and enjoyed those gigs if they’d branded it as anything other than Revolting Cocks/ Revco. But, hey, I’m an old bitter bastard. Some people liked it . . . I guess.
And, yeah, from the look of footage I saw, sales and attendance at gigs was HORRIBLE. The House of Blues clip I saw looked like a completely empty venue with a few people standing up by the stage. Just sad.

I think you’ll dig some of the tunes. They played “Hail to His Majesty” in full, as well as “Punch in the Face” (my personal favorite of the new stuff).
Other than that, there’s nothing worth listening on the show, to be honest if you’re looking for insight or information that’s not already in his book or online (although Al is semi-amusing anyway), but like I mentioned earlier, I blame the failure mostly on the lack of show organization and lack of screening.
If whomever was lining up the calls actually asked the callers, “What is your question for Al?” and lined up a few interesting ones it would be a cool show. The hosts could have also helped better facilitate the conversation that way as they could restate to Al what was being asked.
Ehhh, whatever. It is what it is. I rarely ever tune in to any of these dumb online shows anyway. They’re typically worse than Public Access Cable . . .
He probably has some kind of a shrine dedicated to you, Paul Barker, Bill Rieflin, and everyone else he hates in the back of his closet, complete with candles and sculptures made out of old chewing gum.
Pretty much. Al reminds me of this guy I know. He’s my friend’s uncle who drinks a LOT, and every time I see him, he’s absolutely trashed and he comes up to me, and in broken Spanglish, tells me that I look like John Lennon. It’s amusing and cringeworthy at the same time. Much like Al, hahahahah.
Al’s pretty much a cartoon, now. Not even a parody of his former self, but literally a caroon. Like someone drew that fucker and pulled him straight outta Toon Town.

Well, he also said that:
• he’s going to release a comic book about himself and a science fiction book about a serial killer
• he hates facebook and all his fans
• he didn’t learn how to read until he was 42
• he doesn’t know if Trent Reznor is a homo or not
• he hates The Cure because they sent those raccoons or they look like raccoons or something
• he wants to use cayenne pepper and dry ice bombs on all the people he hates
• he’s sexed up Frankie Nardiello

But seriously, I listened to “Hail to his Majesty” and “Punch in the Face” from the stream - thanks to Gunnar - and I think hell has frozen over because I actually dug those two tracks. I enjoyed two new Ministry tracks. This is probably more important than the first black president. Unprecedented. Where is CNN?
I was relieved when “Hail to his Majesty” didn’t turn into an awkward, unnecessary thrash track and “Punch in the Face” reminds me of some older stuff with a healthy dose of newer ideas thrown in (also, the addition of audio samples that aren’t political was sooo refreshing).
They aren’t mind blowing but for once I didn’t cringe, hit stop, and say, “NOPE!” when hearing a new Ministry (or Al related) track. In fact, I found enjoyment in listening to them.
“Permawar” is still shit. Hoping the rest of the album is more in line with the two I’d heard and not that piece of shit.
The most important thing you all left out is that Al admitted he pretty much outsources all of the music at this point and just does vocals. Who knows how much of the lyrics he even writes. If you like it, that’s cool, but it certainly isn’t Ministry or even Al at this point. I’ve suspected this for sometime as he talked about his engineer doing the drum programming in the past, but it was nice to hear him confirm it and frankly be so forthright with the info.

This was all pretty obvious during those “Making of Relapse” videos if you watched any of them. You’d see the guys just go ahead and make something and then present it to Al as if it was his idea so they could get his blessing. Maybe I pick up on those subtleties because that’s how I often work with many of my co-workers, management, or clients on many projects.

I also don’t think there was much synth programming in the last several releases and we all know he has guitar players and his engineer programs drums so not much left. On these new songs played in the breaks I heard synths so it was nice to have it addressed. I instantly thought there is no way Al sat down and programmed any keyboards I wonder who did the heavy lifting?

Funny, because this is one of the main reasons he hates With Sympathy. He claims “The material was handed over to other writers and producers.” How is this any different?

To be fair these days he’s kind of acting as executive producer, meaning he’s outsourcing but he has final say, pics and chooses what he likes. I think the issue was on With Sympathy was he was a new artist with no creative power or final say. Regardless of what version of the With Sympathy story you choose to believe I’m sure the label had final say over the creative content.

Funny because I honestly did not listen to more than five minutes of the “interview” before I had to shut it off due to poor programming, Al’s shitty webcam, and that obnoxious cunt behind the mic (I couldn’t stomach enough to tell but I bet she throws the “devil horns” way more than any human being ever should).
I never, NEVER, EVER claimed this was the Ministry (hence the quotes) anyone is used to - the original, real deal, full band and contributors. I also don’t give a shit anymore, to be honest. It’s been too many years and within those years I’ve learned that this shit really does not matter compared to what happens in your own life. I’ve bashed this band to the point that even I became tired of it… and that is unheard of for me.
Regardless of any of that bullshit, I liked the two songs I’d heard. I don’t care who wrote them. I like them. Ministry since TMIATTT especially has been a band where many different people have had creative input. Hearing that Al supposedly outsources music shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone familiar with the Al. Either way I don’t care anymore because I couldn’t be any less emotionally invested in the band at this point.
If I like it, I like it. If I don’t… well, what the fuck else is new?
Yeah that Chick on the show was fucking terrible. “I’ve never seen Ministry but I’m gonna when you come around”…Al, “I’m done with Ministry and touring”. She didn’t know anything about Al or Ministry and Sin is sitting right there.
I didn’t mean to imply that Al said that he hated Josh Bradford when I typed my original comment.
Al stated Josh something or another when talking about the singer on the last three Revco albums.
Ron Buss was the first caller.
Chester the Molester!
At 51:23, Sanaz asks Al who he hates. He hates Marc Geiger from William Morris too.
Sin does a pretty good job as host.
Yeah, Sanaz, uhm, not so much. She’s not too smart and not a good on-air presence/personality. She didn’t even know that books could be signed and sent though the mail. She seems more interested in promotions, being a spokes model, and being a groupie. It’s obvious that she has no clue.
I have met both Josh and Sin (purely random Sin walking in and sitting down with a small group of us to eat lunch (his idea) and a purely random liquid breakfast with Josh and 20 other people). Both were very nice.
And Trent has love for Al too. Trent pointed out a person wearing a Ministry shirt at one of the 2009 shows in L.A.

Sanaz seems like a rather typical Persian Princess - albeit one wears Lip Service and Red Chapter instead of Dolce & Gabbana and Armani. Not sure what’s up the Cruella de Vil hair, though.
