Parents… I had moved out and when I had certain “habits”, so that didn’t work out. Now i’m just saving money and working on my exit strategy.
My parents live less than 2 miles away so I ‘visit’ them alot, mostly around dinner time [:)]

I’ve got kids that no longer live at home. Well, one that’s gone and one that will be gone this Fall.
Come August, it’ll just be the missus and I.

Oh yeah…i was a music major in college and thought that since i could play, i could make a living at it. I have many laughs over that one. Various jobs, now at a library in rural NC making $11,000 a year. I wonder why i keep going on as i’m fucking 40 now and the country is fucked beyond belief.

Used to live in an nice inner city appartment but moved back home when my mum had cancer and have stayed ever since.
It’s ok. My parents live in a massive modern house on a lake - something I can’t afford - and they live downstairs and I live upstairs so it’s sorta like having my own place anyway as the place is so massive.
And yeah, Italian males are spoilt. My Italian friend has had a house, a holiday house, 3 cars and a six month European vacation bought for him and his wife by his parents.
I left as a 15 year old have never been back. I have done a lot of things other people may not have but I think I missed out too.

Totally agree. The eldest Italian, or Arab, Greek, whatever, male will get away with murder, be the most spoilt and often will be the laziest and most underserving of what they’re given.
I’ll be first to say I was definitely given more than most kids and got away with more than some of my friends… but at the same time, I was a little more sheltered than some of my friends, and whenever I fucked up, my parents pretty much said to me ‘you’re on yer own; you deal with it’; which is the best thing they probably did.
When my boss, who is Greek, got married in his early 20’s, his parents bought him a two storey mansion in Camberwell, fully furnished, with a pool and a 3 car garage.
They also bought him a yacht.
And they are paying for his two shithead Greek sons to go to Melbourne Grammar.
At the time of his wedding he wasn’t even employed and had debts of over 100 grand - which his parents eventually paid.
When he was in his early 30’s he was literally handed the family business which he has almost sent bankrupt twice. Doesn’t do a damn thing and then blasts the sales reps and finance team for his incompetance. At 40 years of age he is still relying on his parents to pay for everything as he has absolutely no idea how to make money. He has turned a 12 million dollar a year small company into a disaster in the space of 5 years. We are more or less surviving month by month with only enough money to pay the employees and whatever bills we incur.
He has not been able to pay himself a wage for nearly 5 months - a fact which he never lets anyone in the company forget and reminds us all several times a day. His parents have had to dig into their own pockets to finance their son’s lifestyle, costing them around $40000 a month
He’s a rude, fat, lazy Greek jerk who thinks the world revolves around his pathetic existance. It’s humiliating to watch decent people have to suck up to this bottom feeder.
The only reason I stick around is because I grew up with the guy and am more or less guaranteed a cushy job with a good salary else I’d have been out of here years ago. I never get yelled at or have to work overtime and get a holiday whenever I ask for it. I do feel guilty about it sometimes, but like evryone else I gotta put food on the table.
