So let me see if I got this right....

I liked them best when they were a metal band.

10,000 Days is all filler you say??

Personally I say 10,000 and everything Tool has ever done is kind of pretentious kak…Prodigy is just as horrible too.

And the really spooky thing is Tool’s front man looks exactly like Tool fans???

"10,000 Days, which could refer to just about anything. Some guesses:

“Fool”?

-The combined man-hours involved in designing the album’s packaging.

-How long the album seems (to me).

-The average age at which a male Tool fan loses his virginity, if manual stimulation by a 15-year-old girl in the back of a movie theater showing Saw II counts.

-It’s not funny, Maynard’s mom had a STROKE and she was PARALYZED for 10,000 Days, you prick!

-The number of days it will take me to wade through the e-mails calling me a prick for making fun of Maynard’s mom having a stroke."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

For anybody that’s interested 10,000 days happens to be roughly 27 years, 27.39 to be exact.
Anything special happen to any members of the band when they were 27?

Well, by that logic that’s probably about how long I’ve been alive. Heh.

Tool just got even more mysterious. These guys are incredible!

10,000 Days is referring to the time Maynard’s mother was paralyzed before dying.

Let’s see… Decent or GOOD albums that have come out around the time of 10000 Days or since then…

Anything by Jesu
Septic Flesh - The Great Mass
Dream Theater - Octavarium

I could go on but there’s no need. Jesu pretty much kills anything on the ambient/drone/experimental side that Tool only wishes it could accomplish. Septic Flesh has the tenacity and arrangements that squash Tool to death. And as far as progressive and such? C’mon, Pel, Dream Theater will ALWAYS be better than Tool. And don’t give me crap saying that I had to come up with 3 bands to cover over one because DT would’ve been enough to do it alone. And even you can’t argue that.

Peace!

Dream Theater??!?!?!?!?

OMFG!!!

You are arguing that Dream Theater is BETTER than Tool?!?!?

[laugh]

Dream Theater are fuckin’ MOR ballad bullshit with complex guitar parts and extended instrumental interludes. They’re a fucking joke. One step away from Bryan Adams meets Yes. The gayest band this side of Evanesence.

In a nutshell.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh we have a winner.

HEY NOW.

Awake kicks ass.

Dream Theater??!?!?!?!?

OMFG!!!

He’s not arguing. He’s making a scientifically valid statement.

Tool is awful.

Tool wouldn’t know how to be complex, write ballads, or anything compared to DT. And don’t say that Tool doesn’t write ballads, cuz they do. Anyways… I didn’t come back to argue about Tool. I just wanted to see how things are going with all of ya. I kinda miss my online homies, even though you make me wanna kill most of you, lol.

Dream Theater: Take ALL the worst aspects of Rush. Take all the suckiness of Yes. Add some Queensryche. A dash of Steve Vai. Add any number of cringeworthy late 80s POWER ballads by the suckiest bands of that period. What you got? Why, you got you some Dream Theater there fella? Good golly gosh aint you just.

How dare y’all reference Dream Theater when discussing Tool.

Yeah, I’ve a mate who’s pretty nuts on Dream Theater. Every time he criticises someone else in the group about the music they listen to or bitches about some music on the stereo while we’re driving or playing pool (which is often since he hates noise and black metal) somebody will inevidently bring up “But dude, you listen to Dream Theater”.

They sound like a prog rock version of an 80s soft metal act with, as Peligro said, maybe some Queensryche thrown in.

Also Krowe, don’t get too cocky about Jesu being all conquering. A new track has been previewed from the forthcoming album Ascension…and quite frankly it’s a stinker!

Apart from the split with Eluvium, nothing Justin has released since Conqueror has had any impact on me at all. The same fucking thing over and over and over and over…

Infinity did nothing for you? I could give you the leeway on Opiate Sun (which is still better than Tool, which is a Tool anyways)… but NOTHING? Not even the Pale Sketcher remixes? I mean… It’s not like JKB has done anything that I’m all “omg” about" but Infinity really was a good track. Very Jesu. Very Godflesh. Even some TA in the back tracking.

Hahahaha

Yeah I always find out folks weakness for crappy bands then whenever they diss some music I deem cool I’m like “hang on a sec dude…don’t you listen to…”

When I’m playing Rock Band II and the Dream Theater song comes on I’m actually embarrassed to play along with it.
Even if I’m by myself.

Panic Attack? That bitch is HARD. Love playing it though. It’s a great stretch on the fingers and rythem parts are pure fun.
