I’m not enough of a Ministry historian to know if it was just sloppy notes from the writer, or if BILL RIEFLIN was really the bass player for that one.
Anyone?

That was a good little write up. Thanks

I think the guy was just mistaken. I know they switched up roles sometimes back in those days though. Maybe bisquet or someone who knows better can weigh in.

Yeah, that was my guess too, but as it was 1986 that the Pailhead sessions started (I’d not realized it was so early) I was unclear because I didn’t know exactly when Barker joined (sometime before LORAH, obviously).
Anyway, I’m really interested.
Rieflin can play bass like a champ. Ho played it for KMFDM on one of their tours in the early 2000’s. As for him playing it on Pailhead songs, no idea. I know Eric Spicer from Naked Raygun did drums on a track or two at least. But accurate credits from those days never really got published, especially for Pailhead, which had a “secret” lineup - even though everyone knew the Jourgensen/McKaye part, which was supposedly the big secret.
cool. thanks. didn’t know about the reiflin thing. cheers.
Nice article, definitely. Though yah, he’s mistaken, Paul was on bass and Bill was on drums. Eric Spicer only played drums on “No Bunny”, maybe Bill was out that day or something. I asked Eric who confirmed it.
Basically, it was Ministry but with Ian on vocals. Someone in the comments said that Ian cited it as a bad experience recording it, is that true? I always read or heard different…Acid Horse on the other hand, iirc CV had a bad experience recording with the boys…
didn’t ol willie reefer do the bass on ‘Test’ too?
Jesus Christ that was a shit article. Zero new info, has Reiflin on bass, and says the “Trait” cover is the US Capitol (It’s Austin, TX).
But it is totally awesome people are still talking about this song.
I loved this article just for the comments. I didn’t like Pailhead, so I skipped over learning about it- members, etc.- until just recently. Thanks for sharing…
