Thanks dude! That’s some solid advice, right down to the “It’ll be weird if you watch porn” bit! We have a netbook and a chaise lounge on the couch and coffee table set up right next to the couch so I think I’m hooked up! We may invest in an Easy chair based on your suggestion but if not I think our current set up may work. thanks again for the idea.

Man this whole time I’ve been thinking it’s a girl and the other day we go for our 20th week check up and on the ultra sound the doc tells us, “that looks like a vagi…Wait that little pointy thing looks like a penis… Yea, yea a penis, Well… no, Yea, Yeah, it’s awfully mobile but that right there looks like a scrotum and a penis, well it just moved again… so now it looks like a vagina again… well, there it moved again and now looks like the scrotum and the penis again. Well, I’m at the point where I’m willing to bet the farm it’s a boy” (at several points I saw the little dangly he was talking about and asked if it could be the umbilical chord. He laughed and said, “no the umbilical chord is higher up.” I asked “how about an unusually large clit?” He was not amused.)

So, that was enough for me for several reasons.

#1 He spotted a penis more often than what he thought was a vag.

#2 that guy looks at ultra sounds all day, he knows exactly what he’s looking at/for.

#3 He has the 3d ultra sound technology at his office, he knows we want to know, but he charges 250$ dollars to use it. He gives us an almost definite answer about the sex but still vague enough to make us still want to know for sure. So, I’m sure he thinks he’s gonna let us sit and wonder on it and then hit us with the 250$ 3d option for confirmation at the next appointment.

Although this part throws me for a loop, He said that according to the department of pediatrics woman are only supposed to have ONLY two ultra sounds per pregnancy and so we won’t get anymore ultrasounds as this was our 5th one.

So, at this point Mrs Smrf is bummed because she doesn’t know for sure. so we go to target and get the gender pee test. we had to wait a couple of days to do it though because there are strict rules about the test. Has to be the first pee of the day and you can’t have had sex within 48hours so we had to wait 2 days.

So meanwhile, while we are waiting for 2 days to pass Mrs. Smrf starts looking up the 3d ultra sound scans and how many ultra sounds are safe per pregnancy. We couldn’t find anywhere where Ultrasounds are harmful to the baby.

(Although, many sites as well as my mother in law said you’re not supposed to use the ultra sound machine for more than 15 minutes at a time per Doctors visit. and I don’t think we’ve had 15 minutes combined )

So, Mrs. Smrf calls up this place in Anaheim, that her mom told her about, where the 3d ultrasounds are free on Wednesdays and Fridays because they are training new hires on how to use the machine and so we got an appointment for the Wednesday Oct. 13

#4 So, 2 days pass and Mrs. Smrf takes the Pee test and it comes up BOY. so based on the doc and the test I’m already sure it’s a boy. but were still going in October to get the final confirmation. But as far as I’m concerned I’ve enough evidence to believe it’s a boy.

I’m shocked. I was completely ready for a girl and then He shows up! But I’m glad cause the last month or so I was contemplating sibling order and if we were gonna have a boy I was wanting a boy first that way there will be an older brother. Now I truly don’t care about what kid #2 will be as long as it’s healthy. I’m fine with 2 boys and I’m fine with a younger daughter with a big brother!If we were to have a girl first then I would’ve wanted two girls. sucks for a boy having an older sister growing up! (at least it did for me!)

So, Silas James is set to enter the world sometime in early January.

I’m told it’s common enough to confuse a penis and a clitoris at some stage with these scans. If it’s a boy, great. If it’s a girl, great. If it’s got both, best of both worlds.
