WTF???
That can’t be right. Can it?
WTF???
That can’t be right. Can it?
see you guys tonight!
no opener? one can wish Ministry will play an extended set, though that’s unlikely.
I also can’t see Ministry coming on at 8, even with no opener. and no way they come on a half hour after doors open. I see 9 being more realistic.
I agree, Sean.
No way they take stage before 9.
I’ll still be VERY surprised if they start before 10, actually.
same here…I’d be shocked if they started before 9, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t take the stage till nearly 10. but, ya never know. better to play it safe. who knows?

Edit:
I suppose not everybody has FB, so Sin says Ministry go on at 8:30 PM sharp.
well there we have it. 8:30 sharp. sounds good to me! makes sense, an hour after doors open. thanks acid! (I do not have facebook)
Lame. Anyway, we’ll be down at the hotel in just a couple hours. I guess we’ll walk over at 8.
8:30pm show?
Yeah, and that means the show will be over around 10:00 PM. Rock and roll!
We’re leaving in just a few minutes.

It’s a blessing in disguise, trust me. They went on at 10 on a Sunday night and I was a wreck the next day at work.
Embrace the setlist!
Hey guys, just a heads up. Was at San Francisco show last night and they told us they’d go on at 9:00, they went on around 9:20. Show was over around 11:00.
I’ll be getting to the venue between 7:30 and 8.
Wow, they weren’t kidding.
We were partying and BBQ’ing until about 8 and then walked over to the show. Seriously, when we got in they were already playing. Al and the boys were on stage doing their thing (“Hail To His Majesty”) and everyone in the crowd (certainly less than a full house) was apathetic and confused.
One of the girls that came in with me wanted some excitement and asked why there wasnt’t a pit, so I told her “because we haven’t started it yet” so we marched into the middle and kicked off the violence.
From then on it was quite the show, actually. Not the setlist I would have chosen, but an incredible show nonetheless. I won’t bother telling the setlist because it was as expected. I will say I had an amazing time. I saw Ron, Acid Cripple, Sean, Grumpysmrf, Prototype and a bunch of other cool cats.
After the show we went back to my hotel room and debated who ruined Metallica more . . . . Bob Rock or Lou Reed . . .
The answer . . . . Lou Reed.
I have some random photos but I don’t know how to get 'em off my phone . . . . and maybe they shouldn’t come off said phone.
Good times. Good times. I don’t care how much Al or Ministry may suck. For me it’s all about hanging out and partying with great people and we did exactly that.
And the show was actually pretty good too.
Actually, Cliff Burton ruined Metallica because he died…
had a much needed awesome time. seriously, the prongs folks and their buddies are the BEST. sincere and fun people. I am so very much happy I went.
I’m not too familiar with Ministry albums post Rio Grande Blood (I’ve listened to each of those albums like once or twice each) so I wasn’t into most of the set, but when he played the earlier stuff the entire place went NUTS. last time I saw Ministry in 03 in NYC there was a giant mosh pit the entire time. as gunnar said, the crowd was pretty laid back, I saw gunnar and friends in action kicking ass. the legend! but smrf and I were a bit further back and the pit didn’t start by us till NWO towards the end.
the band totally cock teased us. they played literally about 5 seconds of the Missing, and then 5 seconds of Lava. I was about to go apeshit. but then they just went into Kyhber Pass.
really though, the best and my most favorite part of the night was before the concert and after the concert, meeting, bonding, and having a great time with great people. can’t wait for the next meetup. I can’t stress enough about how cool these cats are.
Great to see you again, Sean! I’m glad you made it. We had a pretty righteous crew last night. I feel sorry for the other guests in nearby rooms. I think we finally wrapped up our post-gig festivities around 2:30am.
Everyone had a blast. That was really one of the funnest times I’ve had for a concert. My body is protesting all that fun today, but it was worth it. I look forward to another blowout in the near future.
Cheers!
Yeah, good show & good times. Was really cool to meet everybody.
Paying for it today too, but it was worth it.
And hahahahaha about Lou Reed. I am very passionate about this matter. Much like 9/11 we should never forget such a tragedy.
Edit:
We also learned that Bob Rock’s real name is. . .Robert Rock. You’re welcome.
At the gate . . .

Back at the hotel . . .
Some deep discussions. I think we were discussing inflationary pressures of external market factors upon an agriculturally-driven culture. Or it may have been hour three of “Bob Rock vs. Lou Reed”.
Going to the AM/PM . . . “River’s Edge” style (props to Cripple!)
White Trash BBQ takeover at TownePlace

We missed NKOTB. DAMMIT!!!
awesome pics, glad you posted them man! so much fun. that was a killer vest you had on too.
Thanks! El Chaleco (my vest) needs to go into rehab again. It’s got some serious war wounds that are in need of dressing.
