I know I may be the minority here, but is anyone else psyched to see Joey from Slipknot do the drumming for Al this coming summer? I’ve seen Slipknot live about 10-12 times, and Joey is one HELLUVA drummer. I know, I know Raven and Victor will be great to see too, no school like the old school, but having Joey there is just the icing on the cake. Okay, you may all now start to bash me for liking Slipknot. I’m still psyched though, and dammit soon you will be too.
Apart from the debat if one likes Slipknot or not, I have to admit that, Joey is a very good drummer and I’m quiet curious to see how this live lineup will work. I hope they’ll come back to Europe.
Mad ups to Joey.
I’m down wif da Knot.
He is a good drummer but come on, there are so many better drummers out there, many of which have already played with Ministry…
not the biggest fan of sliipknot, but i am intrigued to see how he’ll do. excitment.
What would kick so much ass is if they did Breathe with Joey, thatd be so rad. Slipknot is chill, but I definitely wasnt feeling Subliminal Verses, some good songs were on their but most of it was meh. Self-titled one will always be the best. I am defintely stoked to see Joey play with Ministry, what other famous drummer would actually consider playing with Ministry besides Baker anyways?
Hmmm I think Slipknot is hated on by many industrial metal heads because, while they do use a decent amount of electronics and post-production, the vocals are almost always gutteral screaming style and it just makes the music sound like dumb impotent rage. Plus the dude has a pretty good voice when he actually sings, which is like nails on a blackboard to any industrial metal fan.
I doubt some death metal drummer could pull off something like Breathe, and he would need electronic drum pads anyway.
Didn’t Al say in some interview that he was a fan of Slipknot???
Just another sign of Al’s decline into the headbanging low brow world of metal.
it will open up ministry to a whole new audience though. thousands of hooded 13 year olds wondering where their favourite drummer has gone… suddenly ministry sell a whole load of back catalogue cds to curious 13 year olds… good for al. as far as i’m concerned joey is just a drummer, not the drummer from slipknot. if al wants to use him that’s cool. i hear that the ministry’s current singer used to be in some limp-wristed synth pop band 20 years ago too. modelled himself on boy george apparently… i can’t believe ministry would employ him… [laugh]
is joey confirmed to play live? or it’s still in a stage of “plans”?

That dude from Def Leperd? (Snare,Kick,Snare, Kick, etc…)
since skipknot is taking a break… STONE SOUR,etc…it’s pretty confirmed Joey will be around for the tour. Wonder who played on the cds though…baker probably.
Mark Baker is doing the cd drums.
As for Joey, bag on the Knot all you want, but he is a great drummer and should pull of all the Ministry shit live well. Probably the best midget drummer around too. [laugh]
Fuckin’ love duality…the drums are so intense. I saw Joey at ozzest at Jones beach. What a showing by three drummers…truly a kick ass show. Joey is so good with timing; I can see him being like Bill with the timing behind of the more intense ministry tunes. I’m so fuckin’ glad I’m got a ticket in my hand to this wonderful and kickass event. AL has made an awesome decision at far as a lineup. I personally couldn’t be more excited to check out this concert.

I’m with blackheart here [cool]
as for the 13 year old slipknot fans checking into ministry…well, hopefully SOME of them will enjoy the earlier material like Psalm and Filth Pig. Not sure if it’s going to happen like that. Plus little 13 year old are annoying at concerts [laugh]
Say what you want about Joey from Slipknot.
At least Al didn’t hire the clown who just hits barrels.
At least Al didn’t hire the clown who just hits barrels.
lol very true!!!
/who knows maybe clown is the main creative force in slipknot…?/
He’s a good drummer, but I despise Slipknot.
i agree…other duality, I don’t like them.
