I honestly don’t even know any song by Trixter and don’t know if I’ve ever even heard one.
I think their biggest hit was called Give It To Me Good. They still don’t hold a candle to Nelson.

What’s interesting about bands like Trixter is that they showed up just as hair metal was transitioning to grunge. So they don’t actually look any different than Mother Love Bone or pre-fame Alice In Chains.
I think that just made me hate them more. I mean, the dude is wearing a Metallica shirt with rolled up sleeves on an acid washed jean jacket . . . . with totally fagged-out bands like Pretty Boy Floyd or something at least there was an identity or meaning to what they were doing (regardless of how stupid it may be).
But these Trixter guys . . . . it just looks like some posed spread for Seventeen MAgazine or something . . . “Hey, Julie! Go find me 5 potential heart throbs, tease their hair and make 'em look like bad boy California rockers!”
And you get this embarrassing fabrication. I don’t like Pearl Jam or Nirvana very much, but Eddie Vedder and Kurt at least looked natural in their respective images.
Sorry, I don’t know why I feel the need to talk so much about Trixter when I’ve never even heard a song, hahahahahaa!!! I told ya I had a chip on my shoulder.
I should probably use this one to revive the Ask Gunnar thread but just how bad is Pretty Boy Floyd? One of the daughters of the chick I was seeing (the one I was bitching about in the Ask Gunnar thread who ended up playing me) is into them.

They’re pretty much the epitome of what made the Sunset Strip/ glam scene so loathsome and despised by “real metalheads” in the 80’s.
Generic (competent) music, empty and dumb lyrics, full-blown doucherock posing, inflated wannabe rockstar heads. Decent energy and enthusiasm live if you don’t take them seriously (or as seriously as they took themselves). They were staples in So. CA for quite some time and their ads and flyers in the mags and on the telephone poles were omnipresent.
They were one of about a million wannabe Motley Crues of the time. I hated them mostly because I felt they were so unavoidable at the time (kudos to their marketing agency and street teams) and also because at the time I was extremely hateful of anything “glam” or “fake” or whatever else might irrationally piss off a 17 year old amped up on Ministry, Rigor Mortis, and Dead Kennedys . . .
This is their so-called hit . . .

You have been warned . . . .
My Sister bought me the “After The Rain” single on tape, back on that Monday during the two hours and forty minutes when they were big… I think it’s still in the shrink wrap.

Well, hey there, ladies! Watcha doin’ toniiiiiiiii . . . . . wait, what the ffffffffffffffuuuuu???
Just to be fair to the boys . . .
The Nelson brothers didn’t always look like fags . . .
Sometimes they looked like LESBIANS!
My first girlfriend had a Extreme poster AND a Nelson poster hanging on her walls. The things we’ll put up with for a little fingerbanging.
But the chicks, man.
The chicks dug the glam stuff.
Not that it did me any good as I was a total teenage nerd in the late '80s. But still.
Boy this thread sure did hit some interesting spots.
Back on track - anyone ever heard GNR when they were known as “Hollywood Rose”

Yeah you can by a CD “Hollywood Rose The Roots of Guns N Roses,” but it’s a bit misleading. I think Izzy and axl were the only real members of that band. There may have been one incarnation of that band that a few more members of og GNR were in but that was ultimately Tracii Guns’s band and it had more turnover than a fast food restaurant.

I think there’s some samples up on YouTube and such. Most of the tracks I’ve heard were just earlier raw versions of early GNR songs.
If you’re a G’n’R fan it’s worth checking out just for curiosity, but if you’re just a casual fan and not an avid collector or something, you probably don’t need to get the CD’s as they don’t add anything to the legit G’n’R albums.
At least, that’s what I thought about it . . .

I’d agree with this assessment. I’m a pretty big GNR fan and I don’t own it. I probably will at some point but it’s more of a cash grab at a recognizable name as far as I’m concerned.
Edit: The only songs anyone would recognize is Anything Goes and maybe Reckless Life. Reckless Life was on side A of GNR Lies and everybody just listened to side B, the acoustic side that had patience… so Reckless Life is probably little known to the occasional GNR fan. Shadow Of Your Love was never released officially and only recognizable to super fans like myself. not worth it to the occasional GNR fan. and not worth it for the super fan because we already have those demos on the many bootlegs we own.

I use to date this chick also, that was getting banged by the drummer for Slaughter back in the day. I would be jamming my LORAH, outside the tourbus, in my beat up Corrolla while she was inside the tour bus getting nailed.

That is a horrible story and I feel bad for you even if you have long not cared about it. [:(]
