The scene in the movie Singles where eddie vedder and matt dillon are sitting in that booth reading that article in the paper about their band, Eddie is wearing a revolting cocks shirt.
eh. watched that movie today.

stainless steel providers.
all three rail-road guy’s heads on one person on a bike.
eddie vedder was a big ministry/ cocks fan. met him at the pearl spam/ministry bridge school benefit . nice enough guy. we have a bunch of people in common, in management primarily.
don’t think i ever saw this movie, but looks like a boatload of peeps were in it.
i still wear that shirt a good amount. it always gets comments which surprises me. i also bought the finger licken shirt at the same time, both from a $5 bin, shortly after that album came out but still haven’t worn that one. always liked the stainless one way better.
I still like that movie. Saw it in the theatre when it came out. I wanted to bang the daylights out of Bridget Fonda back then. Eric Stoltz was funny as the mime. I remember likiing the soundtrack, too, which was strange, as I was fairly anti-grunge (or just sick of the Pearl Jam overkill at the time). Isn’t Alice In Chains one of the bar bands in one scene? I’ve always liked them. Took me years to get into STP (Tiny Gifts, great album), but now I retro-actively like their old stuff, too.

I loved the bit where they use Tad’s Jinx to blow out the car windows.
AIC play ‘Would?’ in one of the bar scenes if my memory serves me correctly. Soundgarden play ‘Birth Ritual’ in another, which was a class song. Had this soundtrack before I saw the film; the soundtrack was pretty cool (at the time anyway) but I was disappointed with the film. Thought it could be better.

yea - that’s actually why i poped the movie in. i pulled out the sound track to hear “would” on fri. then poped the movie in on sat.

Both AIC and Soundgarden play live in that. It’s def a who’s who of the Sub Pop scene in that film. Also has one of the best Smashing Pumpkins songs I’ve ever heard on the S/T. I think it’s called ‘Drown’.
yes it is ‘drown’. My band in the 90’s used to cover it live. It was actually our set ender, due to the feedback outro. was great, altho I’m sure more than one band following us during our mid-bill days weren’t thrilled with the deafened audience.

Didn’t Al and Eddie have contests to see who could drink the most beer pumped from the stomach of Matt “The Tube” Crowley?

i remember this rumor. is it true?
IIRC it was in Jim Rose’s book, with a pic of one of them drinking something out of a mug. Now Mr. Rose may be a carny at heart, and they’re not exactly trustworthy people, but this seems like something dumb to lie about.
vedder asked me what’s up with al?
i think the story is stupid enough to be manufactured. what a surprise.
Bile beer!
From what I remember from Jim’s book, Eddie drank more than Al, and Al said something like ‘screw this, I’ll make my own’ and left.
The Jim Rose circus was great. Chainsaw Football in the crowd (with all the lights off) was the greatest thing ever…
Seeing Mr Lifto and the Enigma in the pit at the NIN show was pretty cool too…
anybody heard of the term “prestidigitation”?
back to vomitting at cnn.
no holds bared - Eddie drank vomit, al didn’t. give him (eddie) credit. Eddie wanted it (success) - and he did what was needed. Fellas (and ladies) you gotta respect that.
it’s all theater folks.
