Torrent technology is excellent, I am glad its out there. But how the shnips do I extract it from it torrent state?
Huh? You shouldn’t have to. After the torrent has downloaded the files, they should just appear in the directory you’ve set them to appear in with your client.
Which client do you use, anyway?
Yeah man… Harry is right. It should just download and extract them for you. I would suggest using a rather simple a user friendly interface for dealing with torrents. I recommend BitLord. Very small program and very easy to use.
Peace!

you need a torrent program. the torrent program changes that ONE “*.torrent” to a directory with the containing files. The “torrent” file is not a compressed file, nor does it contain the audio files. It is a file that manages the download of multiple files and associated directories.
I recommend the “ABC” client.
I recommend Bitlord, too. Great client, easy to use, I’ve had good luck with it. Before it connects, it allows you to view the contents of the torrent file, so you can de-select any exta files you don’t need (which could speed up download time).
Oh yeah, once you have Bitlord installed, you don’t have to run it before downloading. Just click on the torrent file, and you will be prompted to select the torrent program to run. Try to grab the files with lots of seeders (10 or more), and you’ll get the files lightning fast.

Awesome, thanks dudes and dudettes.
No problem. Glad we could help. =)
I’ve been using Azureus for my all my BitTorrent needs. The latest version is a bit of a resource hog but I don’t mind when I’m asleep anyways. Just remember whatever client you use to cap your upload speed at about 80% your maximum. I can easily reach my monthly upload allowments (15GB) with just a week of leaving it running.
