help a nigga to make this tour da bomb.

What should they do???

Muthafucka, I t’aint got de slightest idea.

True that, nigga.

They should file 13 these forgettable nancy boys and get wif a betta crew. These douche bags seem like a buncha third rate bargain bin Road Warrior rejects. The lead douche looks like a fat overgrown boy who just won an all expenses paid trip to run rampant at Hot Topic for 15 minutes.

Ama-toors, G.

I am definitely undecided on this here compton swap meet at the present time.

True, that.

fuck the opening act…have RevCo & Ministry play all night.[sly][sly][tongue][sly][tongue][sly][pirate]

Pitbull Daycare’s label must have offered some money to Ministry for touring privaleges or something, I mean Al does have a decent taste in music and I highly doubt he would be into these polesmokers! They look like a friggin goth-industrial boy band! [laugh] Donnie! Andy! Bird! Shakes and Bishop!

Don’t take it from me…let the utter gheyness of this act speak for itself! http://www.feelsodead.com/

It’s really pretty sad because there are probably scores of better up and coming bands that could get some exposure from opening for ministry.

I made it like five seconds into the music and had to close the window before I vomited in my mouth. Seriously, if THIS crap is Al’s call then I’m losing large doses of respect for the man’s taste.

Seem pretty crappy to me. I heard somewhere that Static-X wants to open for Ministry. That would be a lot better, imo. I hear a lot of Ministry in their music.

That would be facking sweet. Wow, I could see it now, Static-X doing their Ministry cover of Burning Inside with Al doing vox. Dont know if thatd work though cos of Static-X still being on Warner, so the company shit might get in the way of that being a possibility. Unless it doesnt matter what company owns the band, not sure the legalities of playing live with other-label bands.

Sadly most of the current industrial metallers are probably all like Pit Bull Day Care or Cleopatra’s artist roster. Not to say there aren’t other good ones out there, just seem to be harder to find.

I’ll just show up late, if Ministry does play here now, or try and drown them out with some beverages.

Static-X, even they aren’t that spectacular anymore. Loved them back during Wisconsin Death Trip, then just lost interest slowly. If they swore to only do WDT material live opening for Ministry, I’d say fuck yeah. Toss them on.

As for legal issues for bands guest spotting. There are none that I know of. Full blown tour like the upcoming MasterBaTour where you have members of other bands, contracts are more about pay, and probably covering the fact that some of this material might be recorded for a future DVD. That would be the only thing. If Static-X and Al did do Burning Inside together, then you’d need to clear the legalities to release it on anything offical, and have all labels okay it. Warner probably wouldn’t care now, and as long as Al and Mrs. J were okay with it, then sure it could be released. Otherwise, Al could go out and sing Burning Inside with Static-X until the end of time if he wanted to without anyone saying anything.

Static X was interesting at first but now they are a really shitty band. Its unbelievable how much potential they wasted. To me “Machine” was somewhat of a revival for industrial metal, an album with some new ideas (which is hard to come by these days). Sadly, after that album they decided they just wanted to be a sub-par nu-metal band and abandoned all intelligent usage of electronica in their music.

Yeh I agree with the Static-X downhill stuff. WDT was freaking cool, and so was Machine, but dumb-ass Tripp started taking way too much control over stuff and they did Shadow Zone which had one cool song (Monster) on it. I like that they have their original guitarist, Koichi, their latest album sounds way better than Shadow Zone shit but still not up to their old coolness. Beneath, Between, & Beyond had some of their awesome b-sides and demo and remixes though (including the bitching Paul Barker remix of Im With Stupid.) Their next album should sound way cooler, whenever that may come out. Wayne needs to stop doing his John Davis-ish vocals tho, did that way too much in Shadow Zone. Thatd be bitching if they did an all-instrumental album as well, I dig their electronicy-industrial shit they bust out every now and then like Brain Fog.

I’m not a big fan of the albums since Machine either, but it’d still be a lot better than the support they have now. I think we can all agree on that.

It’s a tough call with Ministry openers.

The problem is, they have to be at least somewhat metal to mesh well with Ministry’s current sound. And most bands that incorporate metal into their music suck ass.

But there is absolutely no worthwhile industrial metal out there these days, and rightfully so since the genre is totally played out.

I’d like to see a band like The Locust or even Fantomas open for Ministry, because I think they incorporate enough guitar to satisfy the headbang dipshits, but are experimental and challenging enough that an intelligent fan could also enjoy them.

A more realistic approach would be to have another oldschool industrial rock band open for Ministry…kind of like they did with My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult where the sound might be vastly different, but audiences would be familiar with the opener so it wouldn’t matter.

I think someone like Foetus would fit this bill perfectly, though he probly wouldn’t want to open for Al & Co.

But seriously, let’s not kid ourselves here:

MINISTRY AND SKINNY PUPPY NEED TO TOUR TOGETHER !!!

Skinny Puppy as opener might be ludicrous to many people (Litany crowd would absolutely fume), but it’s obvious that Ministry is the more popular band, and I think the acts would really mesh well together despite their different sounds.

P.S. But if they did “Smothered Hope” I’d like it to be Puppy alone doing and not have the song ruined by guitars. Am I the only one who prefers the version on Skinny Puppy’s Singles Collect over the version they did with Ministry?

True that, when I saw Ministry the venue it was at was absolutely packed. Saw SP at the same place and it was literally about 1/3 full (and they even played on a Saturday night if I recall correctly). Kind of a shame things never worked out like they were supposed to on the last tour, I think it would’ve benefitted everybody.

Ouch. I have to say that I fucking LOVE the ministry “Smothered Hope”. It is one of my fav Ministry recordings.

I like the demo version of “Smothered Hope” on Back & Forth, vol. 2; because it’s almost unrecognizable, and has this weird live intro that sounds like old 80’s noise bands, which I dig. Other than that, the Ministry version is my fave.

i prefer ministy version. it’s faster…

yupp… I’l go for the Ministry verision to…
best one I’ve heard so far must be the
live 1-13-90 one…

damn that’s a fucked up order to write dates…

I like the Ministryish version better, but I dont like it when they play it too fast, makes Ogre go double time and sound lamer and gets him to fuck up easier.
