Ended up picking it up. Some songs were terrible enough to be unsalvagable (Red Parrot and Bandido, i’m lookin’ at you!).
Hookerbot 3000: Tweaker/Vrenna is a god among gods and usually fails to disappoint. His mix holds true to his track record.
Keys to the City, Parrot, Bandido: Egh… The semi-original is better imo. The other two were pish, still are, and the mixes follow suit.
Cousins is pretty cool.
Luc did a pretty good job on Touch Screen. Was a little skeptical after his mediocre, and hardly different mix.
I’m Not Gay mixes are so-so.
10x better than Dubber. Went into it with pretty low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised, except for those three I pointed out. Worth a shot.
All in all, it’s a fun little. Some songs have a little more life to them. Clayton’s remixes have kinda been “lifeless” and “bare”. But, he and everyone else did a pretty good job.
The rest are what you’d normally expect, my two favorites are I’m Not Gay with Dave Rave and The Wizard of Sextown mix. They have great atmosphere. Touch Screen’s remix is pretty nice too, it’s almost like a extended mix more than a remix.
Got mine off of Ebay and the packaging is pathetic!
it’s basically a cardboard slip case with a gatefold stapled to the front!
there is pretty much NO THICKNESS to it all and will be easily lost amongst any of your other CD’s.
Gotta say though I think it’s pretty good. THere are obvious songs that SUCK hard. but others are done up quite nicely. I think this release is probably about as close to real REVCO as they’re gonna get.
However, I think the problem with Nu REVCO is that the BPM are ridiculously fast compared to real REVCO. I don’t think real REVCO ever got over 85 BPM while I don’t think NU REVCO has ever been under 110 BPM. Still It’s good in it’s own right.

Did you ever see the packaging for Puscifers “V Is For Vagina” album? That is just a bit of cardboard folded over with a slit for the cd to go inside. The artwork is good, maybe it’s recycled or something, but very flimsy, and I’m usually a digipak advocate
i’m with stairwell in that I tend to like digipaks too
I think the industry is using them more because they’re cheaper… Flimsiest tend to be those columbia records best of (insert band name) ones. but they’re on 100% recycled crap so it’s supposed to be ok…
but anyway has anybody seen any of these in stores at all? it seems like the only 13th planet cds i find are the soundtracks to wicked lake in the big non indie stores… the symbolic deathnail in the coffin or whatever i guess…

Well it could be they’re saving money by not having to send units to a store and are dealing with sales and downloads on their own. 'Cause I haven’t seen any for sale at my local Best Buy either. (the only place to buy Cds in my town) But I haven’t been to Amoeba in a couple months either… I would imagine they may have several copies.
Last Dubber is in the Mail according the Ebay seller as well… and the story is the same with CD when it comes to my local store as well.

I honestly reckon that whole album was a personal little joke of Maynard’s to fuck with the deluded pseudo-intellectual Tool fanbase he’d be all too aware of (keep in mind his ‘everyone…repeat after me… think for yourself… think… for… yourself’… gold. [laugh])

It’s definitely odd. Cocked & Loaded and Last Sucker were all over the place when they came out.
I hope for 13 Planet’s sake that this is Megaforce’s problem.
I’ve copies of Cover Up around here. Best Buy usually has Sucker, rgb, rant and the early/side trax. Might have had psalm 69 the last time I was there.
I think the only 13th Planet release I’ve never seen is the non-holographic edition of The Last Sucker, without Bush’s face on it. Does this even exist, or did they just make it as an alternate image because the holographic cover wouldn’t reproduce well on websites/magazines/etc?

I have a copy but I got it through Ebay and It’s not a digipak.
