Server Update

Another server update - this will be the last (except I’m putting in 4Gb ram into the system next week but downtime will be 5 minutes).

The hosting company where I had my server is leaving Chicago for good and gave me the option of moving it to Dallas. Too far away for physical access and I didn’t like their service much anyhow.

They’ve had a whole bunch of problems too:

It was horrible service, too much downtime and insecure hosting.

Regardless, I’ve moved this server to a more secure place - at the Board of Trade in downtown Chicago (where all the financial trading goes on) through these guys:

I hear these guys are good and it’s in a very secure building and they have a fast network.

So things are all back to normal. Some of you may not have seen the site for a while and that is because I’ve had to change the IP of the server. We’re all good now… Thanks for the patience.

tried looking today,on and off for hours and thought there must be some issue.

enjoy that board of trade building, if you go.a very fine specimen of architectural (old school) building there.
the monadnock is right around the corner. check it out.
personal favorite downtown is the inland steel building, a monument to modernism.
have had a lot of time on these hands to study the environs of the places i’ve been.
and if you go to admire the inland steel, walk across the street to italian village. go upstairs.food’s good, not great, but it’s an institution.
