My older £40 Sennheiser headphones died a few days back so I decided I wanted some major friggin kick-ass headphones for my ipod and home stereo listening pleasure…after much investigation I found the Sennheiser 25-1 II headphones which are friggin AMAZING!!! I paid £150 for them so they’d want to be amazing. But seriously if you really want to do yourself a favour with regards to pure listening pleasure, fork out and get these bad boys!
The sound is insanely good. It brings a whole new life to all the albums on your ipod! You honestly hear shit you’ve never heard before in the mix. The other great thing about them is they’re ultra comfortable and you hear virtually zero of the outside world once they’re on!
Here’s a review from some dude that pretty much nails it on the head…
"Good Points: Light, adaptable, comfortable, good materials and finishes. No extraneous noise from product. Durable. Compact. Audio quality!
Bad Points: None.
General comments: Not as sturdy as I might have liked, but, with careful consideration, have had them for over a year without any problems.A bit dubious, considering the price, but once i got them home… they rock! The sound quality is amazing; I have never heard quality like this before. I can actually hear the engineers mixing down music on the desk on most production CD’s. Top, mid and bass levels, panning, reverbs etc. all as distinct as the instruments being played. I told a (good musician) friend and he didn’t believe me. I let him try them and he was stunned.I use them when playing my guitars at home, mostly and they are without a doubt the best headphones I have ever used in every way. If it wasn’t for the wire, I could easily forget I’m wearing them especially since the sound quality is so engrossing, it’s definitely addictive."
Here’s another review from Amazon…I totally agree with the “sub bass vibrates your field of vision comment”! Hahahahahaha!!
the only headphones you’ll ever need, 7 April 2009

such is my love for these things that i am compelled to write something. i use them for music production and to plug into my ipod and they are perfect in every way. the sound quality is fantastic(sub bass vibrates your field of vision). the build quality is great. the whole thing comes apart so that if anything breaks, you can replace parts rather than the whole thing(even the cord unplugs from the phones!). the way its designed, there is no pull where the cord meets the phones so there’s one less thing to wear out. the cord is only 1.5m so for an ipod you dont have to figure out what to do with half a mile of cord. right angle plug. i could go on and on. i dont know why there is anything eles on the market. the only problem is that you really cant hear a thing with them on so on the street you need to watch it.
Talk about hearing things you don’t pick up on a stereo it’s always great to listen to music on good earphones as hidden sounds do become audible. It happens with some jesu, e.g. ‘Ruined’ & ‘Man/Woman’. I always love when it happens.
I need new headphones my dog chewed up my old ones. When I listen to music its usually on headphones, and you do pick up things that you wouldnt normally hear, which is awesome.
these sound like the real deal. I remember back in college my audio professor said Sennheisers are really the best for audio quality.
I own a Sennheiser HD202 pair and have had them for I’d say a year or so now. Love them! Great great quality and super comfortable. I only have two gripes: the chord is SUPER long (it does come with something to wrap around with but still, I’ve never seen a chord this long before) and they aren’t the most comfortable to sleep in. Got them for about $25 on amazon marketplace.
I have the HD280 (silver), which are amazing for the price range (pretty sure I paid under $100). They’re very comfortable, block out outside noise very well, and the detail is amazing. I use them mostly for recording sessions, and when I’m writing on the synth. Sennheiser rocks.
I’m a long-time Senn fan, currently using IE8.
Compared to the benchmark Shure SE530, they have a little less clarity in the high frequencies but they make up for it with the most cataclysmic bass ever created in an in-ear canalphone. Its like walking around with a subwoofer in your skull.
I need new headphones my dog chewed up my old ones.
I think i’d probably kill myself if a dog chewed my new headphones. On second thoughts i’d probably kill the dog. Actually I like dogs so i’d just pretend a cat did it and kill the cat.
Actually i’d just buy some new ones and kill nothing.[cool]

Hahahahahaha Actually it was my fault I left the headphones on the floor. Anything on the floor is doggy territory, the dog slept outside for that little stunt.
I wouldnt mind spending $200 on headphones headphones to me are a necessity
it’s so fucking weird how a pair of good headphones can bring old albums back to life… it’s like you just HAVE to put on the old fav’s to see how they sound now… it’s a shame how alot of the older albums are the ones that you find all the cool new sounds on… probably cause all the new stuff is basically turned up to clipping when they master it
