Haha! Thanks. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it but I’ll keep this in mind next time I watch it.
sorry to bring this bck on topic for a moment bros…
was it just the one song, “cut me some slack” the track was ok and sounded better than i thought it would, and i know techinically it was a reunion of the remaining dudes who were in nirvana, but all the media billling it as a reunion then them not playing any nirvana songs kinda puzzles me. not that i think mccartney could do those vocals, or risk destroying his chords by trying them. (Tourettes being a prime example)
that being said, i would have dug seeing him sing On a Plain. I think he could have done a fantastic job since that’s real singing and not screamy grungey stuff.
i REALLY liked nirvana, it that band that introduced me to bootlegs (30 dollar over priced ones, but hey, i was in 7 or 8th grade for fucks sake) nowadays i don’t really listen to them as my tastes have changed.
I enjoyed Paul introducing Mr.Smear.

He forgot the part where Freddy Krueger snaps the gym teacher’s ass with wet towels in a steam shower before he claws him in the back. That’s not gay, is it?
As a Freddy movie it blows,
you couldn’t be more wrong…
but it’s hilarious when you watch it for all the symbolic gay repression.
I never noticed, but I’m going to watch it again and look for all the gayness. thanks for the tip.

I stand by my (brief) assessment. The whole point of Freddy is that he kills people in their dreams. “9-10, never sleep again,” because that’s where you’re vulnerable to him. Time and again he kids are drinking coffee or taking pills because he can’t hurt you if you’re awake. Except in the second one, when Freddy doesn’t do any kills in a dream. He takes possession of the lead character, and kills people through him. I could concede that it’s fine as a slasher film (although I personally think it’s subpar that way too, but I won’t begrudge someone for disagreeing), but it fails as a Freddy movie for chucking out the lore established in the first film, and carried on by all of the following films.
Then again, it does succeed as a movie about a teenager who feels like he is a monster, and needs to hide it from all of his friends and family, causing him to suffer on his own with the sick and twisted urges inside of him.
And to be on topic, I thought “Cut Me Some Slack” was a bit dull. It sort of started as a big rocker, and then stayed mostly the same for four-five minutes. Too much bombast, needs more changing dynamics. I’ll still be interested in hearing the rest of the Sound City soundtrack.

I’m gonna play the part of a republican here and tell you that all of your thought out logic and well reasoned theories and perfectly sensical explanation that is probably right, is still wrong cause I want to like it.

?? was that the dave, krist, paul "nirvana"song? if so I agree, otherwise I don’t know what “Cut me some slack” is.

Sound City is a documentary film, with Grohl doing a collaborative thing on the soundtrack. It’s kinda like he did with Probot in that sense, I guess.
Tracklisting here.

I’m particularly interested in the Grohl/Homme/Reznor track.
still wrong cause I want to like it.
Yup. And I won’t argue your right to like it. I think it’s a pretty shitty movie, but I still like it.
And yes, “Cut Me Some Slack” is the “reunion” song. I am hoping that the rest of the soundtrack hits me like Probot does, because that album is excellent.
