Never had any interest in the show and then a friend insisted my wife and I watch it and we put it in regular viewing rotation. Those gay Jesus guys lifting the 1500 pound crucifix was hysterical

The world surely has turned on its head when the likes of Gunnar and Grmpysmrf start dispensing advice on popular culture and what counts as credible music.

bewildering how bitter you are over a chat board where all I (and possibly gunnar’s motives too, although we haven’t conferenced about it) do is make fun of stupid things and try to amuse myself and hopefully others… How much better would your life be if you had never found prongs? Not much, if at all, I’m wagering. So, I know it’s not me/us.

but aside from that you would do well to listen to us. we have succeeded in life where you have failed. Beautiful wives. nice homes. 4 year degrees. friends that aren’t superficial acquaintances… the good life

If it keeps up you’ll all soon be wearing Dokken t-shirts, worshipping butt rock bands, living off bacon sandwiches and Jim Beam and harassing old ladies at bus stations for voting Republican.

the reference to bacon pretty much ruined any chance you had at making any of that a derogative statement.

Not to mention marrying your cousins.

Snubbed by your girl cousins too, egh?! poor guy!

LMAO!!!

There ain’t nothin wrong with a little Dokken. They did do the theme song to Nightmare On Elm Street part 3, which is the best of the series. Not to mention George Lynch is one of the best guitarist from that era.

Nightmare On Elm Street part 3, which is the best of the series.

Are you out cho mind?!??!! [shocked]

Elm Street 2 Freddy’s Revenge and Elm Street 5 The Dream Child battle it out constantly for the #1 Elm Street spot. Although, in my older age I think #5 is taking the top spot most often.

I haven’t seen 5, but from what I’ve read it sounds like shit. I also haven’t seen Freddy’s Dead, but that one sounds hilarious. So far I rank them like this

  1. Dream Warriors
  2. New Nightmare
  3. Dream Master
  4. 1
And if you wanna count this one:
  5. Freddy VS Jason

I never bothered watching “Freddy v. Jason” but aside from that (and I’ll never watch the remake either) ALL of the Elm St. movies are excellent. #3 is my favorite too, though. The one liners are some of the best ever and the various Freddy manifestations and kills are some of the best in the series. I could go for hours talking about #3. Also Dokken rules!

I haven’t seen 5, but from what I’ve read it sounds like shit.

You should actually watch it. It’s fuckin awesome!!

I also haven’t seen Freddy’s Dead, but that one sounds hilarious.

It’s not, it’s ridiculously stupid. Horrible in fact.

So far I rank them like this

  1. Dream Warriors
  2. New Nightmare
  3. Dream Master
  4. 1
And if you wanna count this one:
  5. Freddy VS Jason

Dream warriors and Dream Master seem like the same movie to me I always get them mixed up.
#1 is definitely holding the solid #2 spot next to Nightmare #2 and Nightmare #5. I Liked The new Nightmare ok but I don’t think it was the greatest effort. I thought it tried to be too “thought provoking” which came off rather pretentious.

#2 Was fucking awesome!!! Freddy’s revenge where Freddy hangs out inside this kids body till he claws his way out to fuck up the pool party!! totally awesome 80’s!!
and The dream child! the kid dreams and Freddy shows up while people are awake, Brilliant!!

Let’s get high . . .

Yeah those little mouths were pretty fuckin cool on her arm! I also like when he turns that health nut into a roach and traps her in a roach motel with his big Freddy eye and saying “You can check it but you can’t check out!” I can’t remember if that was 3 or 4?

But the best is from the dream child when he turns Dan into part of his motorcycle that was freaking sweet and then when he turns into a comic book hero to kill the comic nerd fuckin classic! The pool party from #2 where he’s there slicing people up and the ASB president says “Just calm down man, were here to help you” and fred says “Help yourself, fucker!” and slices and dices that dude! I don’t do the scene justice, you had to have been there!

I thought 2 sucked, so I guess I’ll rank that as number 6. Although I thought it was funny to see Max from Weird Science in there.

The roach scene (really good) was #4.

#3 had so many classics . . .

— “Let’s get high!” (Freddy with the hypo gloves)
— “Feeling a little tongue tied, Joey?” (Freddy as the hot nurse ties the mute kid to the bed with all those tongues)
— “Welcome to prime time, Bitch!” (Freddy’s face pushes out through the TV and then grabs the chick and pulls her into the screen)
— And when he pulls out that kids veins and uses them as puppet strings to march him out the window like a marrionette.

Dude . . . so many great scenes. And Dokken. Gotta have the Dokken.

“Dream Warriors” the song and the movie kicks tight butthole. That’s my only reply to this thread.

Seriously tight butthole.

Bye, bye, Philip!

I saw some documentary on the Bio channel recently about all the Freddie movies(it was either from 2011 or 2012…they had most of the actors, producers, directors etc commenting on the film(even Dokken was on it-I was amazed to see Lynch and Don sitting not only in the same room but sitting next to each other)…obviously none of the bigger names like Johnny Depp or Patricia Arquette were involved but pretty much everyone else…it was a very thorough doc…they went through various death scenes and had all kinds of goodies and tid bits about the movies…man, some of those fine chick actresses are looking haggard now…time pulls no punches…gahhh

GRUMPS: Was it you that said you had the “Freddy’s Nightmares” TV series on DVD? That was a great show.

No, I think the majority of it is filmed on set but all of the streets and scenery shots are from the upland/Rancho Cucamonga area. And those dudes are from that area.
Late,
grmpysmrf

Nah, I don’t know the dudes, but yeah, they always make fun of the city I live in (Rancho Cucamonga) which is where the episodes all take place (or at least the story goes). I’m not really sure where they do all the filming.

I have the mayor’s business card somewhere and would love to see if the city brass gets pissed off by the show or if they appreciate the extra visibility.

I think most of the dudes are from the Concord area, but I’m pretty sure ADAM is from Nebraska. I’ve got a buddy there and have heard reports (3rd hand) of some of his classmates, neighborhood friends, etc. that all verify that he is EXACTLY like the character he plays on the show and has always been just a complete clown.

I adore the show and the guys just seem like they’d be the greatest guys you could ever party with. If I ever run into them I’ll let y’all know.

#2 Was fucking awesome!!!

Pretty awesome as a metaphor for a teenager resisting the urge to come out of the closet. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, which scene happens first: the kid goes out to a leather bar, picks up his gym teacher and then lets him befoul him in the shower at school before murdering him, or the kid gets soooo close to making out with a girl before he gets scared and then runs back to his hunky best friend for a cuddle? As a Freddy movie it blows, but it’s hilarious when you watch it for all the symbolic gay repression.
