Scissor Sisters loves Ministry

Has anyone seen the Onion’s celebrity iPod feature? They get famous folks to shuffle their music and then comment on what comes up. Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) was up this week, and he gave some lip service to Al Jourgensen. Not surprising; I think every interview I’ve read with him he’s mentioned being a big TKK fan.

Song - Nine Inch Nails, “The Wretched”

Shears: From Things Falling Apart, which I think might be a remix record. I don’t know this song. I know most of Nine Inch Nails’ stuff, and I know the majority of With Teeth, which was their last record. But Things Falling Apart? Oh, you know what? It’s remixes from The Fragile, which I never got into. I thought With Teeth was much better. I think Trent Reznor is amazing.

The A.V. Club: Nine Inch Nails doesn’t seem very Scissors Sister-y.

JS: Oh, you’d be very surprised. We’ve got big Tool fanatics in the band, and I grew up listening to tons of Chicago industrial dance. I love My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, KMFDM, and Die Warzau, and anything that Al Jourgensen was doing. So that’s definitely part of our vocabulary. I mean, nothing gets better than The Downward Spiral. It’s a fucking great album.

When I first saw them that’s the first thing I thought was TKK.

Ana Matronic can go to the grave knowing she contributed to the absolute worst New Order song of all time. [mad]

HAHAHAHAHA!
Thank you, I’ve had a shitty day and needed a laugh like that.

Good call.

I think New Order have had far worse songs than Jetstream, but still, that was funny.

Working Overtime and Rock The Shack are a close, close second.

oh dear god - what new order song did they fuck up?!?!?!
