No reservation or sign-up required. Just show up. And it’s not just for guitar players. It’s a great event for any fan because he tells stories, answers any questions, and plays a bunch of cool new stuff and solos (including some stuff from the forthcoming Rigor Mortis album). They also had some cool free swag (he gave everyone there a Gibson t-shirt and gear bag) and are doing a raffle for a white Gibson SG.
I showed up late as I thought it was gonna be more tutorial/classroom stuff (not at all, though he’s glad to give insight and pointers) but I wish I’d come earlier as it was really cool.
I recommend it for any Scaccia/Ministry fan or just for any guitar geek looking for some inspiration/revelations.
It was a really small bunch last night. Maybe 5-6 people. There were about 25 chairs set out it front of the little stage area. LA is kind of a jaded place, but also I don’t know if this is really being promoted at all either. Mike said the attendance has fluctuated with some of the crowds in the Southern (East) markets up 50 people. But I expect most of the CA stops are going to be pretty thinly attended, so if you want to talk to Mikey or get some of your stuff signed this would be a good opportunity…
After the clinic, did you go up to him and say “Hey, I read an interview where Al Jourgensen said to blame you for ‘Relapse’” and then punch him in the face?
No. I’m glad Mikey gets proper credit (or blame, as it may be) for “Relapse”. I really like the album (despite some epically horrendous lyrics). And even for those who don’t, I think they can at least respect his playing and solos on it.
I did ask him later which song he’s most looking forward to playing and he said “Ghouldiggers”.
I thought about taking your idea and doing a remix of Ghouldiggers where I either removed Al’s spoken word intro or replaced it with a similar (but more interesting) rant I noticed in Fix, but honestly I’d rather spend my time on other things.

I might do it one of these days.
Let me know if you do.
I really dig that song. At first Al’s stupid intro schpiel and his dumb “on the phone with the manager’s secretary” skit just made me completely irate. Now I just kind of giggle at this retardedness of it all. Kind of like watching an episode of “Land of the Lost” or something. It’s just completely awful so I may as well sit back and smile at the attrocity.
I can’t help but giggle and groan at the same time when at the end he does that stupid, “Aaaahhhhhhhh you’re kiddin’ me!!! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!”
