The NE song is new (albeit remixed), and apparently the female drummer that toured with them is no longer with the band (new drummer is Jason Payne). “Life” is one of my least favorites from TLS, oh well. Cool to see some TDP recognition, though this must be the eleventeenth mix of Spasmolytic out there.
That Deftones remix of SP has been out for AGES. It’s alright vut I damn sure wouldn’t have put it on a soundtrI can think of at least 327465 other songs/remixes by SP that would have served a MUCH better job.
they shouldve put the spasmolytic remix that was on the single for it. i love the deftones (minus the last 2 albums) but their remix sucks ass, i really hope they do something more with it.
I liked the first one- low budget, great plot twist, completly unexpected, cool concept.
It all went downhill from there. Some of it is mildly entertaining in the “I’m in the mood to see people get tortured way” but then again, you can get that same reaction by having someone listen to any new Ministry release! [pirate]
I haven’t seen any of them, either. No interest really. I’ll probably grab the Nitzer Ebb track off of Demonoid, I’m sure the soundtrack will pop up there. Figures that the Puppy mix is recycled. Spasmolytic was never one of my favorite SP songs.
Saw the first one last year - maybe if I’d seen it when it came out it’d have had an impact. As it stood, 4 years later, it did nothing at all for me. Much prefer the first “Hostel” over it. That was actually pretty gross (in a good way).
i agree, saw1 was good. then they just turned to crap.

Saw 1 cool idea, cool plot twist -story made up for bad acting
Saw 2 not the greatest story but better acting carried the story.
Saw 3 cool acting, cool story
Saw 4 can’t wait to see it.

I’ve seen all three, and I can’t bear to see anymore. The first was cool, because it was different from everything else at the time. Did another one, same thing, more people…did a third one, more people, same thing. The story worse each time, imo. I’ll probably end up seeing it, but they should’ve ended it after the first, the second was pushing it, and the third was just blatant overkill.
Most of the splatter effects seem like very movie-ish effects ( all reminiscent of any Texas Chainsaw-whadever-gorefest ). They’re calculated to elicit shock at the fact of technical achievement + do not necessarily contribute to deepened involvement in the plot or understanding of it. The series doesn’t really have a purpose beyond showcasing infatuation with blood + guts, yet the hype has led the average schmuck to expect more. Essentially a self-defeating cheap-ass tease x 4. Single-minded guignol excrement.
