ROLAND CR 78

I am selling my ROLAND CR78 drum machine, it has served me well, 4 or 5 albums, but I don’t need it anymore & they are quite rare

$300

Is it programmable?

There are more efficient ways to make beats these days, but it certainly looks quite the find for a collector.

Try autographing it and selling it on EBay Chris…

Best

I’ll give ya 50 bucks…

You’ll sell it on ebay alright, but it’s good of ya to make the offer here.

$50?? Don’t insult the man.

$75!

bangs fist on table

Are there discounts for buyers from minority groups?

I am a shamless plagiarist.

Here’s a video of one in action if anyone’s curious.

It sounds like he’s working on a track from the first Cabaret Voltaire album.

Man that sounds awesome, just the sort of gear that I dig.

Chris, if it can be programmed I’m definitely interested. I know not all of these have the programmable function.

I concur, if that thing is programmable it looks like a really fun, kick ass machine. Those 808 and 909’s are fetching over 1k these days which seems absurd to me.

I was thinking about buying a drum machine sometime in the near future. I can’t afford this one. Can anyone recommend a fun, vintage drum machine that won’t kill the bank due to it’s collectible value?

I used to have on of these things and it did what I wanted:

Yeah, I owned both a DR-5 and a DR-660 at one point, and although the sounds were great I was longing for more of an analog programming feel that the Roland 808, 909 and 606’s had. I remember in the early 00’s a bunch of machines were made with that programming analog sequencer programming style but they all contained mainly wack, pre-fab techno/electro sounds.

I suppose the way to go would be to get an AKAI MPC machine with a sample-bank of your favorite sounds.

I’m not against laptops and software per se, but alone they can be kinda boring.
