I’ve been there. It’s a decent place and the layout is pretty nice for enjoying the California weather as there’s a large patio type area and there’s an outside bar there.
The brew selection is good and rotates. The food is good too. I know I ate some big Bavarian pretzel and some other stuff I can’t remember.
As for the rock aspect of it . . . . yeah, it’s pretty lame. Maybe that’s cool if there’s an event or a band playing or something to actually give it a kick, but I was there mid-day and there was just some TV’s playing VH1 or something. And the rock decor is pretty corporately lame too. Some cheesey large paintings of Hendrix and the Who or something. Whatever.
They’ve got a small crappy knockoff version at LAX in at least one of the terminals now too . . . . wow, that’s about as awful as can be. Imagine one of those stupid pre-fabbed fake 50’s diners except they’ve tried to be “rock and roll” . . . so yeah, it’s crap. But the original place is a decent place for eating and drinking.
KISS also owns an arena football team in LA now, by the way. The name . . . . wait for it . . . it’s quite a stretch . . . The LA KISS. Yeah. Okay.
Anyway, that’s about all I have to say on the topic, other than I’ll be seeing KISS a week from Saturday in Mexico City.
I remember when I was a teen I was going to see the KISS farewell tour, I debated because I figured what the hey it’s their last tour, I’d be a moron to not see history.
