RIP Ronnie James Dio

It’s been a bad year for my favorite metal vocalists.

never really liked him since he scammed his way into sabbath. guess he did some good stuff though. sucks hearing that a metal legend died though…

He didn’t scam his way into Sabbath.
Ozzy became intolerable and Iommi invited him to join. Simple as that.

Sad news. Wasn’t a fan of his either. I don’t necessarily think he scammed his way into the band, but I certainly don’t think he really meshed well with them either. I’m hardly an Ozzy fan either though. First Sabbath album is the only one I can actually sit through…

Yeah. I’m a huge sabbath fan, and to me there is no sabbath without ozzy. I know the whole story with ozzy being out of it all the time. But the rest of the band were just as bad, and ioimi had met dio before he decided to get bill to kick ozzy out. Dumb idea cause they sucked balls ever since and ozzy did great things in the 80’s. He’s probably still laughing all the way to the bank every day.

Regardless. I saw him when he opened for maiden a few years ago, and he wasn’t too bad.

Makes you wonder who’s gonna go next.

Um…oh nevermind.

Makes you wonder who’s gonna go next.

Christie McVie from Fleetwood Mac.

Just sayin’ is all.

Yeah, that Bark At The Moon song is a total stroke of genius, heh.

sucks hearing that a metal legend died though…

Ditto.
I could understand why others would like him but I Never really was a fan of Dio either, unless we’re talking about mocking him, then I was a fan!
Late,

Dio was responsible for some class recordings -

Rainbow - Rainbow Rising
Black Sabbath - Heaven And Hell

Legendary guy and all round nice fella. You would never see him show off or bag other musicians in interviews.

He will be sorely missed.

I got to see Dio 2 years ago on the Metal Masters tour with Black Sabbath, or Heaven & Hell for all you fags who think only Black Sabbath is with Ozzy. I will say for the record that that show was all about Motorhead and Judas Priest but Sabbath still did a fine selection of songs. Also you can tell that Dio was really into what he did and that old school passion seems like its been lost over the years. I myself am not really saddened by the loss cause I wasnt too big of a fan of his but the man still was responsible for being the voice on Sabbath’s Mob Rules and also put out some good tunes by himself.

And I also must acknolwedge that if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have the fuckin metal horns! Hail Dio for that!

For those of you who say there wasn’t a good Sabbath album without Ozzy:

I can only listen to that album if I pretend it’s by Spinal Tap.

He was a really down-to-earth guy, seriously nice and genuinely happy to talk to people backstage etc. Thats what I’ll remember about him, since his music was over all far too kitschy for my tastes. His lyrics were pretty ridiculous too.

This cover literally screams:

Hello, it’s 1983 and we’re all on coke dontcha know.
