Revolting Cocks cowboy hats

Anyone know a relatively similar make/model of the cowboy hats that the original line-up Revolting Cocks wore? I know Al J.'s black hat was some type of Resistol, but what about the white/tan ones?

yea, they’re not really that special. i bought one in dallas (waaaaaay back in the day), and I had to steam and bend the brim myself because the old gent working there just couldn’t imaging what i was talking about when I was describing how i want him to mold the brim.

the only one I could imagine to be a nice one is maybe the black one with the chicken head on the front brim that grandpa j is wearing in the 91 AP revco cover.

all you need is a straw cowboy hat with wire in the brim and you’re good. i got one in vegas a few years back at the outlet mall for like 15 bucks.

when i was at retrospectacle they were throwing out sombreros and cowboy hats like these.

Looks like a regular cowboy hat to me. Go to the Western Wear store if they have them where you live. You’re bound to find something. Why does it have to be so specific? Going to sell them with a piece of chainlink fence and try to make some money?

ha that’s a good idea. Naw, I wanted a hat for the Summer, I’ve been meaning to get something for years when the sun is really beating down, but I’m not a baseball cap kind of guy nor do I want to wear something that looks like I should be gardening. I figured a RevCo style cowboy hat would be sweet, even if nobody got the reference.

The regular cowboy hats that I’ve seen don’t have the sides curved up and the front curved down. it’s some kind of style… unless they bent and modified it themselves. I’m sure some “rocker” clothing stores have them on Melrose Ave. or something, but I don’t want to pay $100’s of dollars for it.

I’ve always done it myself using cheap straw cowboy hats. They only last a couple of years if you wear them a lot, but they’re cheap. Just bend and shape until you’re happy…

I have a black straw cowboy hat, that I rarely wear because I’m not really a hat guy. Plus I got a big fucking head. You can usually shape the rim of the hat though

Yeah, you just get a regular cheap-ass cowboy hat and bend the brim yourself. I sported that look for a short period of time.

Where can I find some shorts like Paul is wearing in the last picture. HAHAHAHA. He’s way too tall for those short shorts.

You have to back in time to 1991. I think that’s the same magazine that has a picture of Trent with the band sporting a pair of jeans shorts and a buzz cut (after Al shaved his head, perhaps?).
