Hmm hard to really tell anything from the poor sound quality, but this batch kind of confirms my not-so-high expectations for the new Cocks album.

Definitely campy, which is good, but the music is sounding very sub-par.

What does everyone else think?

yep. on the same level as prunetang/caliente. quality sucks though, maybe it will be alot better overall with the release.

OH YEAH too much biafra to my taste. sometimes it sounds almost totally Lardish

It sounds like Prunetang was re-recorded with Al on vox. Dead End Streets has Lard written all over it. Jack In The Crack and Pole Grinder sound interesting in a good way. The lyrics to Fire Engine are cringe-inducing! Some of the guitars actually remind me of Animositisomina. I plan to buy it upon release. I don’t think I’m really disappointed with what I heard, granted it’s only 30 seconds of each song. It sounds about how I expected.

1002

not too bad…i hear some hopeful stuff.

What’s going on with that last track. “thank you for listening, now here’s an old track…” !!! what is this?

Second, I bet biafra will sing a lot of the connelly tracks.

Third, that is hands-down the worst encoding i have ever heard.

probably a remake/sequel for linger ficken good?

revolting lard!

I dont see what there to disapoint. It sounds like lard mixed with butthold surfers. The synts remined me of pure chewing satisfact (good thing). Except for fire engire and prunne tang the tracks seem to be loaded with samples, synth, distorted vocals and distoted guitars. whats no to like?

Really? Maybe ‘Weird Revolution’ era Buttholes. But nothing like their ‘classic’ stuff. And it’s not really heavy enough or witty enough for Lard, although comparisons are inevitable.

Well, Phildo’s ‘singing’ is atrocious for one thing. Embarrassing even. Lyrics are trite, even for Revco. 10 million ways to die sounds ok as does Caliente and Devil Cock. OK but nothing special. But what’s up with the ‘We Will Rock You’ shit on Revolting Coq Au Lait?? Yuck.

In all fainess, sound quality is too muddy to really tell what’s what.

sounds alright i think. i’ll buy it. anyone notice the cover looks like it might be 3d?

Hmm, sounds like a short circuiting HAM radio playing underwater. Can’t really form an opinion based on such crap quality. Thanks for the link though.

It’s hard to tell from those samples, but it sounds fun. As it should be.
Devil Cock sounds like the sequel to Psalm 69 (the song, not the album).

I thought the same thing…at this point though I’m sick of sequels to songs [:/]

Lard Cocks! or… LardCo! or… RevLard! Heh this is fun.

And Phildo was a bad choice for any vocals on anything RevCo.

I can’t believe I’m looking forward to this more than the new Ministry - I do believe hell has frozen over. And yeah, Biafra’s singing is an acquired taste, but I think he belongs in RevCo. It’s just too perfect to pass up.
