RevCo on a sports station?!

I thought that hearing “Burning Inside” on Monday Night Football was a surprise, but this was more surprising:

I was listening to the Jim Rome show this morning, and during a break, the local sports station runs an ad for one of its own shows. The background music during the whole ad is “Something Wonderful”…WTF? I guess I wasn’t expecting to hear RevCo on the radio, much less an AM sports station. I’ve heard the ad about 4 times since, and it’s definitely that song. Had to mention it to someone!

Why not? Something Wonderful has a great groove that would certainly be pop worthy if Connelly wasn’t barking on it.

It seems pretty common practice that audio guys behind the scenes on shows slip in their favorite “underground” tunes as background music. Probably a good way to avoid paying royalities or something.
