Revco dates are up.... plus you can pay extra to meet al?

You know it’s probably one of my favorite venues as well. I like it best when it’s crammed full and you can feel the floor move when the crowd jumps. I think my favorite gig there was KMFDM and Pig in 97. Ogre, Skold, Pig - all on the last really good KMFDM tour. They don’t make them like that anymore.

true to that

en ensch and ohgr seemed to have way too much fun on stage at the nyc show…

BTW, are we taking bets yet before the dates start getting cancelled for the revco tour?

Agreed.
I have never regretted wearing a leather jacket more than I did at that show.

Not yet buddy boy! their touring with Left Spine Down (I think not sure) if people go it’ll be to see LSD.

I wish I still had the flyer for the Valentine’s show it was hilarious. GG was standing there with a big paper heart that said " Be Mine" on it.

One of my friends took his girlfriend to see the show with us, and she hid under a pool table the entire time. Likewise I stayed as far away from the stage as possible. Like most GG shows it wasn’t too long about half an hour or so, but he groped the strippers, and ate a bible IIRC.

My friend Travis (former guitarist for Atlanta weirdo-band Pineal Ventana) had a t-shirt he made with a bulls-eye on it that said “Aim Here GG”. He got kicked in the chest. I skipped the show the next year which was at a dive called The Somber Reptile. It was said to be uneventful with GG claiming every kid with a mohawk was an undercover FBI agent. A while after that he was dead.

All of that is AWESOME!!!

have a fondness for GG’s early poppier stuff that was actually quite polished compared to the later stuff. That being said though, my favorite album has to be the ROIR release " Hated in the Nation". It complies a lot of his work with various bands with live bits in between. It is essential GG Allin.

His early stuff was great. I don’t see why he couldn’t have gone into the mainstream from that, I mean, the potential was there. But, I’m glad he didn’t… I mean, contrived as it sounds, he clearly was more interested in just being a… ‘shiteating’ punk… as opposed to some industry puppet.

I really liked the stuff he did with the Murder Junkies, but his voice was fucked by then. The production and songs were great, but… seriously, what the fuck did he do to his voice? Must’ve been the poo.

His acoustic/folky stuff was great as well… ‘When I Die’ is a fucking great song, as is the entire Carnival of Excess album.

Back in the day in Chi Town all it took for a meet and greet with Al was a good size baga dope ! Guess Im going to the show. Still not sure why.

Best comment on this thread so far [laugh]

A former co-worker of mine worked at a L5P bar at that time. She said GG came in often, and was always a perfect gentlemen. She was wise enough to decline all his invitations to watch him perform, though.

It’s funny you should say this, because I’ve seen some home videos of GG on youtube when he’s sober, and he’s totally fine. He actually seems like a decent person when he’s not on a stage or in front of some talk show host. There was one instance where he pushes a girl in some pool, then he lets her chase him and beat him over the head with a towel… I mean, that’s petty as shit, but I somehow think his bark was worse than his bite…

when he was sober and not being egged on, that is… [crazy]

So what’s Al going to do exactly? Is he going to play the entire shows, or just appear during a song or two? Or will he play the unnecessarily-needed “rhythm guitar”? Judging on that album, the guitar’s simple (as Sin also did on Cover Up), so is it really necessary for two guitarists? Or will Al just stand around, try looking cool, and pretend?

I thought it was stated that al just produced the new cd and left it to the new guys right?

He did do backing vocals on I’m Not Gay, and maybe some guitar parts, maybe… But it’s mainly the other three. Did he even produce it? Regular rick rubin, I guess.

Yeah, I wish they’d have flown in Luc and Phildo like they did for the last tour.
My guess is it will be mainly stuff from Sexo and C&L, with Do Ya Think I’m Sexy and Stainless Steel Providers and maybe one or two more old ones thrown in.
Josh’s stage character would be great for Mr. Lucky, but I doubt they’ll do that one.

Also, I sent a message to the only Atlanta promoter I still know asking about why they weren’t booked here, and he said “I heard from revcos mgr but they wanted a very sizanle guarantee and not sure of anything anymore…” I guess nobody in Atlanta was willing to take the gamble.

I figure a lot of it will be the newer material, but i’m not sure about CnL, especialy after all the flack it’s gotten. Last tour, they only played a few songs off that album, while the rest were the old ones. I figure maybe Caliente and Fire Engine, but i’m not sure how the other stuff would fit with the newer stuff that Sin and co. actually wrote. And i’m sure they’d rather play a majority of the songs they wrote, rather than what others did, but of course they have to play Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? and a few others. It’d be dumb not to. It’d be like NIN not playing Head Like A Hole.

Hopefulyl with Jim Rose being involved it’ll have a cook circus sideshow feel or maybe like some twisted psychadelic masked mexican wrestler from hell thing…
that’d be weird though, since that’s what rob zombie did… remember when people were saying rob was a rip off of al? then it’s be like coming full circle and the anti-christ would come, which is apparently a movie were a girl cuts off her clit so it’ll be a painfull cum, which would fulfill the prophesies of the bible :ding: It all makes sense now

I am RevCo’s booking agent on this tour. I placed no less than 20 calls to a promoter in ATL. The calls and emails went unanswered and unreturned. Numbers were never discussed in any meaningful way. I spoke to one other suitable venue in ATL and they were booked on the date I needed. In the end I could no longer wait and had an offer in CHA, NC so I went in another direction. I’m sorry there is no ATL gig but just wanted you to know it wasn’t for lack of trying.

I worked hard putting together this tour and I hope anyone that goes enjoys themselves.

It’s josh and sin It won’t disappoint!
thanks for the scoop new user!
Late,

Thanks smurf. I’m stoked to have Jim Rose on the tour and I really like the openers. I’m hoping the way it translates to the stage is in some way similar to my vision.

You should have booked Tulsa instead of OKC. OKC has a bigger population, but Tulsa sells out WAY more shows. I would bet a benjamin that more people would come out for RevCo in Tulsa than in OKC. There’s good size industrial fanbase here too. No shortage of people at TKK and Combichrist recently. Ministry was packed on the CULatour.

So, it probably depends on what they are allowed to play instead of what they’d like.

Surprise, surprise… poor cunts. [mad]

The promoter wanted the show in OKC. We initially were looking at Tulsa but the buyer felt strongly about placing the show in OKC so that’s what we ended up doing.

I don’t think this is the case from things I’ve heard in the last 24-36 hours.

thanks for posting chrisk. always nice to get info straight from the source.

Well, I emailed the promoter I know and asked him to contact ChrisK. We’re not super-great pals or anything, but I’ve known the guy for a long time, so we’ll see if anything happens.

Crossing fingers.
