Melbourne prongers should check this out. If you actually like metal, you’d be nuts not to go:
[i]The Reverend KRISS HADES descends upon Melbourne to deliver his first ever sermon there with a full backing band in December.
For the uninitiated, Kriss has long been renowned for his guitar work in the notorious SADISTIK EXEKUTION. Now, KRISS has escaped the sadistik institution and eagerly awaits the chance to unleash his madness upon the masses with his inimitable brand of psychedelic black metal.
Joining him onstage for the …first time in nearly 15 years since the infamous Sadistik Exekution European tour is legendary extreme metal drummer, Matt ‘Skitz’ Sanders. With two of the fastest and most diabolical musicians in Australia working together to warp peoples minds with songs from Kriss’ upcoming new solo album, this an evening true fans of Australian extreme metal cannot miss.
The unitiated should prepare for a sensory assault, with Kriss’ personally made visuals and uncompromising aural violence making this a night to remember.
Preceeding the sermon will be support from Melbourne doom duo AGONHYMN and with their first show back from Europe, HEIRS.
BE THERE, or GET FUKKED.
Tix onsale Mon Sept. 27 from EBC Box office, $13+BF
KRISS’ band for the night:
THE GOOD REVEREND: Waraxe and sermons
MORTE (Nazxul): Satanik Intonations
SKITZ (Damaged, Terrorust, Sadistik Exekution): Hellbattery
D. BYRNE (Terrorust, Agonhym): Subsonics
D. TUCCERI: Synaesthetics
Gunnar, this will be like those Doritos smothered in tabasco sauce and jalapenos= a lot of arseholes are gonna be burnt… [laugh]
There’s been plenty of very lucrative offers made to Sad X for a reunion gig; the drummer has completely ruled it out, and if you ask Kriss, it’s Dave’s fault there’s no Sad X gigs, and vice versa. Rok is too busy fishing to really care.
However, we will be playing two Sad X songs crooned by yours truly. My head nearly spun off its neck when Kriss asked me to.
Couldn’t source any rare records for ya; Kriss has none (not even the easy ones to get), and we didn’t get time to harass Modern Invasion.
Nah, Morte used to sing with an Aussie black metal band called Nazxul.
He is a really interesting chap. Used to be heavily involved with the noise-experimental scene in Australia, traded letters with Genesis P-Orridge and Charlie Manson, used to know Heath Ledger and inspired the whole joker look (no kidding… trust me, it’s credible if you meet this guy. he really could pass for the living dead!). Was good mates with SPK and Tone Generator, all that sort of stuff.
He’s doing vocals for the most part of the show, but I’m just gonna sing Elektrokution at the end of the night. Dunno where it came from, but Kriss asked me to do it and then was really keen on it when he heard the drummer from Disembowelment had said good things.
Last night was one of the most violent rehearsals I’ve been part of in years. Bottles and chairs got thrown, the bassist and I got stuck into each other, nearly kicked me smack in the head… all in good fun though…
And then it’ll be all over tonight. That’s gonna be a hard thing to come down from… [shocked]
You should seriously talk to Morte if ya see him; I’ll introduce ya. Friendly chap.
I didn’t put my name, or Dav Byrne or Julian Culpan’s names on it because… really, the main attraction is Kriss, Skitz and Morte. Would’ve overcrowded the flyer, and their names are the ones that’ll raise eyebrows.
Look forward to seein you tonite mate, been too fucking long… [:(]
If you had turned up to the gig wearing that t shirt I would have pushed you to the ground and then stomped on you with my doc marten stomper boots.
Then I would have helped you to yr feet and bought you a Shirley Temple.
BTW In 18 years of going to gigs that was the best performance by a local act I have just about ever seen. The only gig that possibly out did it was a Lubricated Goat gig I went to in '93.
To you you fellow prongers who didn’t show up: Sucked in!!!
Akbar, I’m certain you would have picked up with those duds.
Cheers Peligro! Glad we made it worth yer while… I’m still spewing we didn’t get to do Elektrokution like we planned and rehearsed coz he smashed BOTH guitars to smithereens!!!
I’ll get pictures of that soon… but I hope ya enjoyed it. Skitz is quitting music completely (or at the very least taking a massive break) and Morte and Kriss are likely to call it a day, or at least reign things in a little more, so everyone who missed out really did.
