I think he’s old and crotchety. I don’t know if he really WANTS to do anything at this point. I’m still ALWAYS going to blame Sharon on principle, but yeah, I don’t really know a whole lot about Mr. Ward to weigh in with any authority.
I saw the complete original lineup at Ozzfest 2005 but Ozzy was such a sloppy doped up drunken mess of a clown that it was almost unwatchable. Ozzy’s been clean for a while and I was really hoping we might get a shot at seeing these fellas give it one last proper blowup.
I’m interested to hear what Rubin pulls out of them, but I’ll be skeptical until I’m actually hearing the final product. As for live gigs . . . . ehhh, I’m kind of ambivalent. I love those old songs like my own children and every time Ozzy goes out again I kind of feel like, “I should go to this, he might be dead soon,” which, when you think about it, is a pretty light weight reason to go to a show. I’m not actually expecting anything good, I’m just expecting that it might be his LAST.
It just occurred to me that Bill Ward dropped out of the Heaven And Hell project before it actually got underway, too. And, obviously, Sharon didn’t have anything to do with that.
I really think it boils down to the rest of the camp just not thinking the drummer(and lesser in the songwriting/lyrics dept)should get an equal cut…I think there is validity there…Bill claims he backed out of the H&H project because he felt a loyalty to Ozz…whether that is true or not is open to debate…I have also read that maybe Dio pushed for Appice seeing as how much more they have worked together and meshed…also don’t believe Dio and Ward got along particularly well…Bill also jumped ship after the Heaven and Hell album back in 80…
At the end of the day,I think Bill believed he was warranted an equal cut and it just wasn’t going to happen…I think it’s a simple as that…from things I’ve read from some insiders to my own gut feeling…either way it appears that original members tour is never ever gonna happen…and that’s a shame…

In October 2006 news leaked that Ward would be reuniting with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Ronnie James Dio for a tour though under the moniker Heaven & Hell. However, Ward later decided not to participate in the tour or continue participation in the band because of musical differences with “a couple of the other bandmembers”.[8][9]

In February 2012, Ward left Black Sabbath again, saying that he failed to reach an agreement regarding his contract.[11][12]

it’s only a 27 second snippet but the production sounded a little too smooth and polished…hmmm, not sure if they will deliver on that raw-return to the first album-hype…obviously must hear more though…
I HATE that album art. It looks so . . . . 90’s. Like something for Toad The Wet Sprocket or Tori Amos or Gin Blossoms or something. Definitely not properly fitting for the godfathers and creators of HEAVY METAL!!!
So far I’m getting kind of pissed at how this is playing out . . .
.
Album title: GAY!
Album art: GAY!
Lack of Bill Ward: Totally gay.
Song Snippets/ Samples: Hopeful and semi-promising, but I’m not holding my breath.
I was just about to post a link…yeah and the "Nowhere to Run/Nowhere to hide lyric is about as cliche as it gets…ugh…the artwork doesn’t feel like Sabbath at all…and it doesn’t help that the overused title sucks shit…
As I stated, the riff sounds like Hole in the Sky and the production sounds glossy…I’m officially worried…
I was fucked up from breathing in all the dust that I had to go lay in the shade half way thru Zombie’s set.
I believe it. That was just gross. I didn’t care about Rob Zombie anyway, but I was looking down from a bit of a distance and it was just a solid brown cloud in front of the stage from all the dust in the air.
The search for my friends continued towards the end of Shadows Fall who I didn’t give a fuck about at that point. Disappointment of the day was definitely Mudvayne.
I remember watching Shadows Fall for about 5 minutes, maybe. I honestly just wanted to see the dude shake his dreads, but the music was not my thing and I had my dread fix right quickly.
I don’t even remember Mudvayne being there, but I’m sure I wouldn’t have watched them anyway, since I consider them to be even worse than Slipknot.
In case you didn’t know, that was an exclusive performance for Slipknot.
Yeah, I know. That’s why Maiden’s set got shortened by 10 or 15 minutes, along with some other bands’, so they could make room for Spitsnot to dry hump speaker stacks for an hour.
The skins were out for that one punching each other in the face, throwing up nazi salutes and doing the goose step. I got burnt with a cigarette during that set on accident bc some dude got pushed into me by the skins.
I’m glad I sprung for front seats for that one. The San Bernardino Nazi goons really come out in full force at Ozzfest. They get really macho when they’re at an event with 60,000 crackers and maybe one or two black dudes. It’s pretty embarrassing to have that crap anywhere in So. CA.
