And it’s finially been announced, sadly with only 9 “bonus tracks”, of which all but Same Old Madness and Primental are from Early Trax. Was really hoping for more. Maybe they’ll follow it up with something that digs a little deeper.
What other releases is Cleo going to re-package . . . if anyone knows? I don’t think I even need anything at the moment, but I’m curious. Plus if the new versions have some extras or live cuts I might have interest. Most of the pre-Twitch stuff really doesn’t do anything for me, though.
Still praying someone eventually picks up ICYDFLSU to put out on DVD . . . Bueller? Bueller?
Supposedly another disk with the side projects. But based on the tracklists thus far, I’d bet against anything new. I believe they have a license for everything pre-1990 that’s not on Sire.
I suppose it’s nice that SOM is finally getting official release. I’d also be happy if Cold Life got reinstated. Anyone know why that got booted off of Early Trax?

Didn’t I give you a DVD of this?

HAHA!!! I think I must have been on auto-pilot, Dude. I’ve been screaming about getting this DVD so long that I forgot that I got that copy from you. It was a good rip, and I know exactly where it is too, because I came across it just a day or two ago when looking for something.
I never bothered getting Twelve Inch Singles on CD before, so I’m tempted by this release. However - aren’t Cleopatra notoriously crap? Will it be in mono, sourced from low quality MP3s, or something like that? I’d be interested to know, should anyone else bother picking up a copy. Cheers for the info anyway.

Yes.

In general, yes, this is how Cleo rolls.
But I think you’re relatively safe with these re-releases.
From my understanding, they bought some package deal with all the early junk so I think they have pretty legit/clean source material (theoretically, it shouldn’t sound much off from how the original albums/discs sound).
It’s any of the “extras” that could potentially be garbage. Cleo has a long legacy of putting ANYTHING on a CD and selling it. They’ll basically pay a few bucks for all the floor sweepings of some band/studio and then release it as some live cuts or rarities album. It tends to be completely unlistenable, though, and it doesn’t seem like much, if any, attempt to clean up in the transfer process occurs.
Anyway, with anything Cleo . . . approach with caution.
I wouldn’t worry about this release. The tracks look pretty safe, and since (presumably) the multi-tracks disappeared long ago we shouldn’t have to endure any dubstep remixes.
DO expect Cleo to put these on every garbage compilation album they grind out for the next several years, though.

Yeah, this too!
I was hoping for some unreleased tracks, but this looks good. With Primental and Same Old Madness, this makes a complete collection of all the officially released Wax Trax! material.
I’ll probably be parting ways with my Early Trax and 12" Singles CDs and going with this.

It looks like disc one will be the same as the first 12" cd, which does include Cold Life.
The release date is the 16th of September.
Awesome [cool]
